Thanks Brett!! I'm bringing in the giant rat again this weekend. Did you see these other photos?

http://www.flickr.com/search/?s=int&q=ve......w&m=text

I also just found Siamese rats conjoined at the head. The guy didn't preserve them well, so I'm having the skeletons articulated. The Venice Beach Freakshow just gets crazier and crazier!!! Come down folks..., anyone from the Magic Café is considered family at the Freakshow. Smile

Hey Folks....Come see Lil' Miss Firefly..., the smallest woman in the world..., only 27 inches tall...,
see her at The Venice Beach Freakshow starting tomorrow April 5th until April 9th.

Wow!!! We had a huge day at the Freakshow!! Lil Miss Firefly helped bring them in all day..., if you're in the Venice, Ca. area, come meet her. "She's so small, you'll want to put her in the palm of your hand."

Hey Everybody!! I've been busy buying more freak animals.... Next week, you can come down to see the new additions!! We've added the giant rat as a permanent attraction and it's freaking out the locals!! It's not only bigger than a cat, it's bigger than most dogs!! Next week you can see the new cyclops pig, and the pig with 2 mouths (sick looking!).... You've got to see the pig whose brain grew on the outside of it's head, and it's friend whose heart is growing on the ouotside of it's body!!! For the rock-n-roll fans here, we had Brandon Boyd of the band Incubus come through the Freakshow!! He described it as a "Beautiful thing for Venice!!!" Smile ...another satisfied customer.... Smile

Hey everybody, Danielle De Meux of the Bros. Grimm Sideshow came through the Freakshow today!! That woman is Bad to the bone!! She loved it, and is going to come down and perform at The Venice Beach Freakshow soon!! She even offered to bring down her Tesla coil, and her Spidora illusion!!! It's getting crazy in Venice folks... you've got to see what's behind those curtains...[b]look..., right there..., you can see a little under the curtain..., or you can pay $3.00 to see it all!!! There's over 60 strange creatures, oddities, and attractions!! We've even got the largest collection of two headed animals in the WORLD!!! By the way, Lil' Miss Firefly "the smallest woman in the world" will be back in the Freakshow this Thurs. through Sunday. She stands only 27 inches small.... She'll also be dancing on glass, and eating fire this Saturday night (MAY 5TH) with the Super Freaks Sideshow and Revue in North Hollywood. http://www.sideshowworld.com/Gig-CIA-05-05-2007.html There's a freak revolution going on..., if you're in the Los Angeles area, join us!!!

Whoa!!! I got the conjoined rats' skeleton today..., they're conjoined at the head and have two complete separate bodies!! Scary looking!!!

[b]Folks
..., when I say there's over 60 strange creatures in there, I don't just mean Strange..., I mean stranger than strange.... It's stranger than fiction folks, but it's all real..., and you can go inside for only 3 one dollar bills. Ya'll have got to see the new pig I just purchased..., it has 8 legs..., 4 ears..., 2 tails..., but only 1 head..., that's a new one for the Freakshow..., and it's only getting better. Smile

Has everyone heard about the 6 legged calf that was born in Nebraska?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/huff-wires......ged-calf
I spoke to the owner and found out that it not only has 6 legs, it has 2 male organs and a female organ. It only urinates through the female side (in case you wanted to know). Any interested parties can purchase this lovely animal for $5,000 (which includes the calf's mother for feeding purposes). Rumor has it that a major museum/amusement company would prefer to have it killed so they can stuff it $#$%%@..., believe it or don't..., of course, anybody knows that it's worth more money alive!!!

Believe it or not, I'd rather have it dead..., that way it doesn't poop.

I'll graze him for you, got the stock barn and 200 acres... but I get to keep the gate...
(Does that make me the gatekeeper?)

It'll sure be easier than feeding a two mouthed, 3 eye pig!

Or keeping up with an 8 legger Toad...

This place sounds awesome T-Ray! I watched the bally on You-tube. Classic. The "stolen pictures" were cool too. Those reminded me of a swamp ape up in North Carolina that I saw once..

3 dollars is a steal! You should charge 5. I'm sure your rent isn't cheap on the beach!

Tyler Fyre came through on Monday on his way to Vegas..., but, we were closed due to my talkbox refusing to work!!! I might have to finally make that grind tape..... Anyone have experience making them?

Spend the 75 bucks and buy an hour of time at a recording studio.
The engineer will make sure all your sound levels are right.
Any background music you want to include will be at the right level.
There won't be any distracting pops or buzzes.(A bad recording can really work against you.Literally drives people away from the unpleasant noise.)
Use pro recording equipment to cut your grind tape.
You'll get a disc with a clear strong signal so you won't have to turn your PA
all the way up just to be heard.
Good sound can double your gross.
Bad sound can halve it.

Thanks Pete! I've got the recording part down......I was wondering more about the way I should line up the descriptions, etc. In Venice, the people are used to being pitched all day by 50 performers, so they walk by FAST. That's why I've just been grinding it out. It allows me to work the crowd on the fly. How can I get that kind of impact on the recording? Do you use a grind tape?

Yes, Todd.
We use them.
On CD.
I remember when we used to use 8-Track...
Then endless cassettes replaced them!
I'll probably switch to MP3 soon.
But only after IT becomes outmoded!

Your crowd sounds like it moves along about like ours does.
We get a ten second shot at them.
You can't go into a long monologue under those conditions.
You got to keep it brief and go to next.
That is where it differs from the live bally.
Live bally has visual action which stops them.
Grind needs something to take its place.
We use a lot of flash to grab their eyes, then the audio brainwashes (please
forgive the term) them.
"Don't miss your chance..."
"Once in a lifetime opportunity..."
"You must see the..."
"If she gets out, we'll all get out!..."
"The show is about to start, get YOUR ticket and come in NOW!"
Etc., etc., ad nauseum.
Unabashed hyperbole in small servings but served continuously.

Your flash should be visible from a distance.
I put my banner tops up to the 20' level and aim them toward the approaching traffic.
They should keep seeing it as they approach the area.
That is the most important thing.
Then, when they arrive, they will want to listen.

Geez, the last time it was like Old Venice around here, the Three Rivers flooded and half of the streets in the Golden Triangle were under water. I think I'd prefer going to your show much more than our experience.

Congrats on your continued success. Keep up the enthusiasm and keep reporting!
