I recieved this email from the creator last night, I did a little happy dance when I read it...
"If you've ever though of purchasing the infamous "Ghost in the Machine" this may be your last chance. The last four units EVER have been built and are ready to be dispatched. Two have already been sold, could you be the lucky owner of one of the remaining two? This offer goes out to all my valued customers before I list the final machines on EBay. In previous auctions they have reached prices of £200+ so this could be your last opportunity to purchase this classic effect at the standard price of £79.99. Why am I no longer building Ghost in the Machine? All of my effects are bespoke and collectable. In order to keep these effects rare and unique I produce a limited amount only. A new product will replace Ghost in the Machine in January. This offer is on a first come, first served basis. I have attached an image of the box you will receive and here is a link to the item on my website – http://www.lebanoncircle.co.uk/Machine.htm Thank you again for your previous custom and support. Regards Lebanon Circle http://www.lebanoncircle.co.uk Purveyor of Strange and Unique Magic, London, UK" This is a PHENOMONAL product and is in my mind, one of the truly underground classics of the bizzare. Does anyone else on the Café own this? I would love to talk about your experiences with it.

One of the sites faults unfortunately...
Beautiful pieces though, very well made, with a brilliant concept behind them.

I have had my Ghost in the Machine for around 7 months..... and I must say, it is the closest thing you can get to Real Kreepy Paranormal Activity! When I first purchased it, I had a booking for my Sideshow in a city that was well known for being Haunted. I had been asked to come down a week early and meet with the Mayor and commity that ran the Historical Society of the Area. This was for publicity purposes. I had to write all of this to set the grounds for what you are about to read.
I am posting my actual Blog from the week that this Event took place.... and I think you it gives a GOOD example of how powerful this liddle gem is. enjoy.... I just got back from a trip to St.Thomas, the place we are going to be performing at this Saturday. The town is rife with strange stories of the Paranormal! There are many places in St.Thomas that have a rather lurid and interesting past. While there, the commity that had booked the show wanted to show me around the city.... and boy was that an eye opener! They were wonderful hosts and I had the chance to go into places that were not accesable to the public! Which brings me to why I am writing today. 2 nights ago I was given access to the old Train Station in St.Thomas, one of the largest and most important Stations in the early 20th Century. A relic from another time period. This station is now closed and boarded up. - *Sidenote- St.Thomas was the infamus town that Barnum and Baileys Incredible Gargauntuan Elephant 'JUMBO' was killed. Hit by an oncoming train! The Ironhorse Society has access to the Station and I decided that it would be a good idea to try an impromptu Seance on the site. They agreed with my idea and 13 people from the Society went with me at 11:30 pm to the Station. Now, there is an area at the very top floor of the building that was called the 'Black Porters Station Area', this was the area that the Black and Chinese workers slept during thier stay at the station. (not even Canada can escape historically from the old world segregation policies) I felt that this area would be ripe with energy and so I proceeded on setting up a table and chairs to commence a Full-Blown Seance. I had the forsight of bringing with me to St.Thomas a new device acquired from across the Atlantic in London. This device was invented by Thomas Edison (the inventor of the Lightbulb) and it was a machine to communicate with the dead. This machine was placed on the center of the table and the way that it works is, when Electro-magnetic Energy crosses between two copper poles it sets off an alarm (a buzzer). The only way that the buzzer will go off is if the two poles are breached. A brilliant piece of equipment for testing for Spirits. At midnight I began the Seance and at first had no real luck with the device..... but then after a few questions put forward to the Etherial World... success! The buzzer went off! Over time we divised a way of using a simple morse code with the entity and had it eventually started answering questions. Its name was Ben. He died in 1912 and he did not go naturally... during the Seance we did some Telekenetic tests and actually had a penny move about 4 inchs and also an old Skelton Key started to rotate on its own accord. Everyone was holding hands in the circle, and there was no close contact by ANY of the spectators or myself. What we witnessed was a very successful test of Paranormal Activity! That in a nut shell is the Blog from that fateful night. I can say that this device is so strong in its actions.... that you can base a whole evening Seance around it! I am also glad that these are becoming a 'Limited Edition'... because, I think that this may become a signature piece for me in the future! Scott McClelland Carnival Diablo

The "machine" reminds me a great French fantastic book, "Les Grandes Profondeurs" by René Réouven. I don't know if it has been translated in other languages.
The story is about a machine, build in 1888, that mesures some kind of spiritual presence. Well the date may give you some clue about what happens... For French readers, the book is absolutely excellent and is a must read for any bizarrist. http://www.amazon.fr/grandes-profondeurs......07600556 |

I had been looking at this serveral nonths ago along with some other items on their site, but at the time I just couldn't afford anything (and now I'm even more broke!) but it looks like they do original quality stuff!
It seems some of the effects I was interested in are no longer up there (I seem to remember something I really liked and now I can't find it) but interesting thing I noticed, they are selling instructions on their site on how to build a sort of pseudo Theremin! I thought that was kind of neat, me being a Theremin player myself... |

I’ve got one of the last four on its way. Dan takes about two weeks to make them so I’ll have to wait another week. Bummer. I want it now. I’ve ordered from Dan before and so know that the quality of his goods is excellent.

This really is an incredible piece guys.
Get em before they are gone. Garrad we will have to compare notes on the boxes... Since they are always unique. And less than 100 were built, 25 of which reside in the UK. All the rest have been shipped globally...

There was that book MEDIUM by Philip Jose Farmer - futuristic mind you - a machine that identifies another dimension full of energy blobs and when it tunes into the vibrations- it turns out these are the spirits of the dead.... always cool.
Jeff, where do you use it? Small 10 people gatherings? Looks good for a small intimate dinner party at Halloween.... I made something similar via a Corinda effect in 13 steps a few years ago - it was a tape recorder with predictions from the dead...love that Corinda! Looks like this is a nice collector's item - even if I never use it!

I also contacted them right after I got that e-mail regarding the last 4 for sale. I still have not heard back from them. I had always intended to pick one of these up. I sit here waiting to hear if I am able to get one or not. If not, I wish they would tell me so I can move on and spend my money elsewhere. If they are going to send out an e-mail with the whole, " You must reply ASAP to get one of the last EVER machines", then they should at least be prepared to answer those e-mails ASAP! It has been days now!

That's too bad. Theyhave always managed to give me the best service. They are a little tardy on delivery at times, but all in all goos service.
Do we know if the boxes are all gone? There is a caomparable box being sold right now by one of our very own. Totally different method -- also very nicely constructed. Check that one out if you can't get one of the Lebanon Circle Boxes...

YEah that's my question ... are they all gone? If we took the time to inquire about one, they should at least let us know.
