I scored a job for a bank. The bank manager wants me to come in and perform for all the bank employees. She wants money tricks. I figure I will do my Miser's Dream routine. Any other suggestions as to knockout stand up money routines?
Thanking you guys in advance, FC |

Billswitch to mismade bill and back.
"Top Billing" Matrix from Paul Cummins' "Up In Smoke" video which uses two bills to cover 4 coins. Grab Ammar's Easy To Master Money Miracles DVDs or videos. They include a whole bunch of money related routines (bills, coins, etc.). |

If you have "Ultra Cervon" there is a card warp trick called Warp II on page 88 that is a knockout. Yes, you probably would say that this is a card trick but it's a fantastic routine and you do use paper money.

Do some routines from Reed McClintocks Knucklebusters or Troy Hooser's Destroyers. Do a Bill in Lemon or Bill to Impossible location.

The Mint by Johnson. The Mint was originally made by Alan Wakeling. It is a trick where the magician explains how money is made. It is really cool. If you have a question PM me. I have one I am looking to sell.

Thanks, Ben. I already owned that trick and sold mine. I really liked it. I think I will be performing for at least 20 people (probably a lot more). I think the mint may be too small. But keep the ideas coming, guys they are starting to get my mind moving in the right direction.

Deluxe Pen thru dollar. For 25 buvks extra you get a nicer pen and its examinable w/o a switch. Josh
If a magician is not intending to "trick" a spectator, why is every "trick" called a magic "trick"?

Ted Lesley's Bank Night type effect from Paramiracles. You put a stack of 100 dollar bills into an opaque envelope that is then mixed in with four other envelopes that have stacks of newspaper cut to the size of bills in them. then the audience gets to decide which four envelopes to burn. This should get your employers riled up.

Any shortchange routine with bills.
Hornswoggeld, Fred Kaps 11 bill trick, or Easymoney from Pat Page and Kaps.

Larry West's Fast Eddie (think that's what he called it) where you turn four one dollar bills into a one, a two, a five, and a ten.

Any good and quick Coins Across routine is always a winner (magic that happens in your spectator's hands...).
In "Spectators Don't Exist" Jon Allen has a very nice 3 coin routine that also uses a shell. Quick, clean, and relatively easy. As at least part of your act, make the money move, appear, or vanish from their hands if at all possible. You can't get any better magic than that! Best of luck! |

Yes, Sneakers, I agree. I love John's coins across. It is sweet. I am interested in slow burn, but I do not have a dvd player. I guess I am behind the times. I just have a regular old vcr. Maybe I'm too cheap to spring for a dvd player.
I like these bill ideas. I will work on some. Let me advise a link to a great move. It is well worth the download. http://members.chello.at/brainshifter/hy......ill.html It is called hypnobill "The most visual bill change ever witnessed." I just saw it last night when browsing through the video/dvd sale section. It looks nice. I may consider that (since I don't have a dvd player for slow burn). |

I like the idea of Ted Lesley's Bank Night. I think that a good coins across would be hard to be beat. I suggest Micheal Ammar's Incredible Coins across, from the book the Magic of Michael Ammar and I believe it's on the first Money Miracles video by him too but I'm not sure.
Bill Switch would be a must for the bank. And I also think that bill to lemon/impossible location would be very good. You say for 20 or so people, is this walkaround or is it an actual show like parlor magic, also how long will you be working? If it's parlor, go with the bank night, bill to impossible location, miser's dream, floating bill possibly - bigger things that everyone can watch at the same time and be entertained by. If it's close up walkaround go with bill switch, coins across, matrix/shadow coins routine if you have a table. And if it were me, I'd mix it up and put some other close up material in too that don't have to do with money. Just because you have a theme doesn't mean you have to only use one prop. You can easily work patter towards money for other tricks like cups and balls, three card monte, btw - I love that comedy vault combo prediction. The people in the bank work with money all day so on one hand, yes they will love to see it do something different other than leave their hands but on the other hand, they work with it ALL DAY LONG so you might want to switch it up. Good luck and HAVE FUN!!!!! |

Maybe you could do a cup and balls with balled-up dollar bills? Maybe produce gambler's roll as the big finish?

Fruit Cup by John Carney.
It's a bill to lemon in the guise of a one cup and ball routine.

How about doing a bank vault to your bank account, money across?
I'm sure a few well placed mirrors and a computer screen with your bank account scrolling through numbers until it reached a few million would create quite a stir!!! You could make it your fair well performance from the bank N.B This is a joke by the way, just in case you do decide to pull the job..oops I mean magic trick I had nothing to do with it..Okay!!! |
