Two observations. First, it's funny how magicians seemed to be polite and somewhat dapper in days past (although the short sleeved tux is strange). Anyway, that's the impression I always get when I see these old clips. Now you see modern magicians wearing baggy pants and yarn hats just like common street thugs. I know that's a generalization and it doesn't include everyone.
I also realize it's nice to have the wide variety of performers and different personalities. Second, it's a good thing he didn't catch his hair on fire, it would have gone up like a roman candle. |

I have to get me one of those short sleeved tuxes! Must save a lot of time rolling up his sleeves.
