Actually, Canasta is about 6 feet 6 inches, 300+ pounds, and works out. He is also (very much) not a whiner, he is more of a gentle giant. I think that to characterize his post as "whining" is insulting. It is, in fact, the kind of post that helps to keep responsible venders, responsible. If I'd known he was such a big guy I wouldn't have called him a whiner. A grumbler, maybe. tdabue |

I definitely feel its magic, I mean you cut open your arm and pull down a flap of skin, and then proceed to heal yourself. Not only that but you could make objects such as a signed card or coin be cut out. Seems excellent t me.

Ive ordered from Chris for a while before he sold to Penguin and Ive dealt a lot with other shops, and his was my fav because he was prompt with his orders and (in my opinion the most important) honest with his products. A lot of time I would get sold on a description (like many) and when I saw the result felt ripped off and scammed. Which is what made me reluctant to change from the shop I had been buying from (which didn't rip me off but didn't have much in stock) and switching to a new one. I told him of some of my buying experiences and he told me if I had any questions to let him know and he'd help me in the best way he could. I would call him up with some questions on a product and he he would give me his honest opinion on whether or not it was a good reliable product to fit my style without giving away the secret of course. Which shocked me because most places do everything they can to sell everything they have, he was honest and it worked because everytime I bought from him I was satisfied with the products I got. In my opinion, honesty sells especially in our world of secrecy. It was sad to see him go but Penguin as well with other popular names are good reliable shops as well and I have been purchasing from them for a long time with no complaints. My point here is that you have to be patient, it will come and if it has there name on it you can bet its going to be a reliable product. Good luck with the product and post a review once you get it. Im anxious to hear about it and looking forward to getting one myself.

I recieved this a couple of days ago, and I'm very happy with the effect. Its sooo real looking, it really does fool you. I might write up a full review sometime, but would like to spend more time with this before doing so. If you have any questions then please ask and I'll do my best to answer.

Y2John: Hi there, I was just wondering, as it says you can produce a coin, card etc from the open wound - how real would this look? Can the coin be seen in the wound, or do you have to secretly load it in after the skin has been peeled back? (Also, could it be signed?)

This would work really well with a mentalism spooky type feel for just a few people. Do some mentalism and get them uneasy a bit, have their card disappear at some point and then do saw and finally do this flesh wound and find their card, coin whatever in the wound. Not everyones cup of tea but the looks would be priceless. When I do saw, I look at it in the mirror and it is hard to watch. I wouldnt try this at a x mas party or anything, may ruin the party. lol... Looking forward to the reviews.

I just ordered this from The Magic Depot (www.magic.org) taking advantage of their 25% off sale. I got it for $44.97! (reg price $59.95) From what I have heard, I am going to love this one! I will post a review when I receive it.
Marc PS. If you like tricks like this, be sure to check out Zoran's Horror Cutter and Viking Magic Shop's You-Do Voodoo, Needle thru Arm. |

Marc, did they have it in stock ? Please leave a detailed review when you get it. I have been awaiting reviews on this. Was it answered, I was also curious if you can produce a card from the wound and if it can be preloaded. Anyone ? This does look good, thanks for the sale update on magic depot.

Got it today!
At first look I was slightly disappointed...that is until I watched the CD-ROM (not a DVD). I just had a completely different idea on how it was done. But WOW what an awesome devious handling! The gimmick looks amazing and should last for quite awhile I would think. The realism when this is performed is flat out disgusting! I LOVE IT! It comes with everything you need except the knife. You could use just about any knife which is cool but I would steer away from the really sharp ones or you will really amaze when you actually cut yourself! I can't wait to do this one! Its really an easy handling but I am gonna practice it for about 30 mins to make sure I have it down and to make sure it looks natural. I will do it for my wife in a little while and I will report her reaction. I know have 3 different mutilation effects, oh make that 4! I think I will do them in one performance in this order: Saw (that's the 4th one I referred above) Next I will do You-Do Voodoo by Viking (needle thru arm...get the expensive one, its well worth it!) From there I will pull out a box cutter and proceed to cut off my first finger using Zoran's Horror Cutter. And finally, I will use the box cutter for Flesh Wound! If anyone is still watching they will be thoroughly amazed (and/or disgusted!) I always say before I perform any of these that I hope I do it right and hopefully I won't be going to the hospital today. (that builds up the tension) Then when I am cutting I always act as if it really hurts. Back to Flesh Wound. This is an awesome effect that you should own if you are in to this style of (geek) magic. I personally can't get enough of these types of effects! If you are in between purchasing the tricks I mentioned above, you need to just get them all! If you can't and you only want one, you need to make a decision as to how disgusting you want to go. I think that this is probably the most disgusting one. In a close second is Zoran's and You-Do Voodoo. That is not the order in which I like them, but the order of how disgusting the are. I honestly can't make a decision as to which one I like the best. Of course I haven't performed this one yet so it may be the best of the bunch after I do it. The price is very affordable at $59.95 at The Magic Depot (www.magic.org). I got it, including priority shipping, for $53.92 using the 25% off that they are offering this weekend (I think its all weekend) So you may want to get over there right now and buy it! Hope this helps you Donkey and Waffles or anyone else on the fence. Marc |
