Ok, one of my favorites is this (great for weddings!)

ok, you can do this almost anywhere, but I think weddings are the best, so I'll use that scenario.

you gather everyones attention, and say that you have a very special toast that will ensure a happy marrage. you invite the groom to follow along with the toast, saying that if he fails to copy your exact motions, his marrage will fail.

you take your glass, instructing him to do follow along

you take a drink, he does the same

you lower your glass, he follows

you raise it high over your head, he copies

you say something like "may good luck be blessed on this marrage" or what ever, make it up lol

you lower it and take a second sip, he does so also

you raise and lower the glass again, he follows

you then proceed to spit out your drink back into the glass, ne CANNOT!

why? because when he took the second sip, he acctualy drank his drink. when YOU took the sip, you never swallowed!

that's all there is to it! really simple, but it gets a great reaction when you spit out your drink and he cannot.

enjoy!

I've seen this in the past and is a real laugh getter.

I can see lots of possible scenarios with this but I'd hate to set up a newly married couple with that line.

It is a fun betcha though. Thanks for the reminder.

Mark.

...that's what I think, too. You could also take a sip, gargle and spit it back, giving it to the groom. No matter he repeats it or not, it is disgusting. But the important question is: What has this to do in a magic forum?

Steve,

Also, you may not want to spit out all of your drink back into the glass (just in case your mark is familar with this stunt) -- keep a little extra in your mouth, and if he spits out his drink as well... then you can do it a SECOND time! Smile

That is really clever.

That's a good one. I'll make sure to try this around the non-uptight people.
