I am currently working on a trick where I need to get the selected card returned to the deck, and then turn the card over without suspicion.
I had thought about turning the deck over for the return, but feel that, that is a little lame and will not carry the same impact. Any ideas? |

I don't know in what context this move would be used. You can go easy with the Braue reversal which you can find described in Royal Road to Card Magic or go for something more challenging like Cervon's Invisible Reverse which can be found in the Cervon file.

I know of a trick which can turn the spectators card over in the middle of the deck. It's quite useful, but it can be a bit long winded.
I'll make a video of it for you.

Got a few options that you might find useful?
Larry Jennings "Lerreverse" Chapter 10 Pg 59 "Dai Vernons Ultimate Card Secrets" by Lewis Ganson. Excellent, classic method. Harry Lorayne's "Universal Reversal" pg 257 "Trendsetters." Another good/easy method with many variations. Have fun !! |

You can use Marlo's Center Reverse, a half pass, a Christ Twist, or a mechanical reverse......
Take care, Dorian Rhodell |

On this subject, can someone give me the creator of the turnover move of the bottom card that happens during a tabled riffle shuffle? I think it was published in one of the magic magazines not too long ago.

spfranz,
That move is credited to Steranko, not sure of the first name or the spelling though. Jeff

There is a fairly simple reverse by Doug Edwards that I have been messing with lately, I like it. |

The move is very easy and can be done with almost any reasonable number of cards. Another move that comes to mind is the "K-M Move", published in its own manuscript by Ed Marlo. The move is attributed to Marlo and "Kardyro" (or something like that), and is the basis for a slightly easier move published by Harry Lorayne in "Apocalypse" (sorry, I don't remember which volume at the moment). It's very easy and very deceptive, but it requires a "failure-effect" moment where the wrong card is displayed. Finally, all of the other recomendations (LarReverse, Braue Reversal, Krenzel's Mechanical Reverse, etc.) will probably work fine; two other options are a simple half-pass or a sort of 'interrupted classic pass', wherein no break is held and the top card is dragged around the right side of the deck to a reversed position at the bottom of the deck. I agree with "corpmagi." A Braue Reversal is easy to learn and can be performed even if folks are burning your hands.
Or, control to the bottom and, with some misdirection, half pass the bottom card. Or look through Hartman's "Card Craft" or the "Card College" series or just start leafing through your library. Chances are there's just the thing you're looking for hidden in there, waiting to be found. Anyway, half the fun is the hunt itself!

Going the easy way, there are several ways of reversing a card using a double lift described in Royal Road.
If the selection is on top, you can do a double lift and ask if the selection came to the top by accident. Then tip the top of the deck out of the spectator's view to show them and ask about the bottom card while you turn just the top card face down. The selection is now reversed second from the top. You can bring the selection to second from the top. Turn the top card over, show that it isn't the selection. Do a double lift and turn the deck face up on top of the double. The selection is now face down at the bottom of the face up deck. Best of luck, Andru http://www.practicenotincluded.com/

I am surprised the effect you are learning did not detail a method, but many of the methods mentioned (and there are others) are good.
There is nothing wrong with the deck itself being reversed. Paul. |
