Ok, I was reluctant to buy a PDF, as they have a price .. but no value : after you buy them, it's over, and I like real paper !
Buying a 20$ pdf was a big effort for me, but when I see the big amount of work behind this, ok, it does worth the price ! like 400 pages ? with tons of usefull stuff .. |

Thanks, Dynamike and Detlef!
Pierre, thanks for buying Switchcraft and also for sending the material. I'll read it this weekend. Interestingly, today I had another really great billet idea. I haven't had a chance to test it in actual performance yet, but I have a good feeling about it. Elliott |

When I bought Switchcraft over a year ago I learnt a lot from it - but this massive work just keeps growing and with each installment containing new delights.
The latest is an absolute gem. Thank you Elliott. |

Carolini, thank you so much for placing Switchcraft in such prestigious company.
Neil, I am very glad to hear you like July’s “Playing with Blocks.” I had a blast performing one item from that supplement for anyone and everyone I could find. It played really well. June’s “Secrets of the Masters Volume Two” also has some top notch stuff, like “Acidus Novus Healing,” the classic “Acidus Novus,” and the “Extemporaneous Backup Billet.” May’s “Secrets of the Masters Volume One” had tons of cool ideas, but my favorite item was “A Super Perfect Prediction.” As noted in “Secrets of the Masters Volume Two,” there are several ways to perform that trick without using an envelope or an extra billet. I plan to elaborate on one such approach in a future supplement I think that I’ve been able to add a tremendous amount of quality content in the last three months, and look forward to continuing the trend over the months ahead. Speaking of which… Lately, I’ve been having a lot of fun performing some of the not yet released stuff that will be featured in forthcoming supplements. I hope to have the next one done for August. Thanks again, Elliott |

So, I performed the stuff from the August supplement a few more times today. The material plays well.
Many of you know (as I wrote as much in SOTM V2) that I plan to eventually discuss "Billet to Shoe" in the Switchcraft series (maybe in a September or October supplement,) and I have already received permission from the fellow who first used card-to-shoe in a similar “billetish” context. I have a few very viable methods in my arsenal, but I think card magic experts will know much more about FOLDED card (essentially a billet) to shoe than I ever will So, I'll pose the question to the Café. What are the best un-gimmicked methods for FOLDED card to shoe? (By "BEST," I mean the best combination of deceptiveness and ease of execution) Who are the originators of these methods? How can they be contacted? What books or DVD's teach these methods? Thanks again, Elliott |

No responses? I wondered if I should have posted this on the card board (pun not intended, but I like it anyways) instead of in "penny"

The forthcoming supplement is moving along nicely. Today, I got permission for one thing and requested permission for a related thing, which, once my email is read, I am sure I will get.
Surprisingly, I was denied permission for something else today. I hate it when that happens, but that’s life. The shoe thing is moving slow. I have become familiar with quite a few folded card to shoe methods, but want to see them all before deciding which I think is the best. |

Elliott, it's not that we didn't want to answer you, but (a) We're too ignorant and (b) my isp has been spotty, at best, in its performance.

I'm not sure there are that many card to shoes out there. There are just so many ways to do it and most involve a well known card fold.
The one that immediately comes to mind is from "Simply Devastating" by Michael Paul. I don't believe SD is available anymore but I think the card is folded. The method is ungimmicked. |

Thank you, Dan and Chet.
Dan, there are actually quite a few ways to get that billet out of the shoe. Some, I like better than others. I just purchased the Michael Paul ebook. At first glance, it looks like money VERY well spent. Thank you so much for recommending it. Now, I just need two people to buy Switchcraft, so I can recoup my research costs Thanks again, Elliott |

I meant that I wasn't aware of many billet/card from shoe effects in print, at least not in the standard texts. But I'm thinking that, as an example, just about any billet from matchbox method would work for a shoe. And there are a lot of methods in print for that effect. Of course it's impossible these days to keep up with everything. Looking forward to that supplement. |

Elliott,
Just found this doing a search here. It might have something you could use. I have to say that with the exception of Shoe't, I'm not familar with any of them. But a few sound promising. http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......&forum=2 |

Thanks Dan,
Here’s what I’ve purchased so far, researching “Card to Shoe”: John Rigg’s Pocket Writing book, Kicker, Pocket Power, Expert Card Technique, Michael Paul’s Ebook, and Joshua Jay’s book (with Rock to Shoe.) I’ve also ordered Mac King’s lecture notes, but they seem to be lost in the mail or something. Here’s what I haven’t seen yet, but want to know more about… Get Bent by Doug Brewer Johnny Ace Palmer #3 Ed Ellis' "Magic Castle Performance Live!" KORT Unspecified version by Dan Harlan Derren Brown's version from The Devil's Picturebook Derek Hughes version on the coach edition of Celebracadabra. Tommy Wonder’s version |

I found the "Unspecified" Dan Harlan trick. It's on his "Stand Up With Cards" DVD.
Of course, I don't own it, so it's not much help. OK. I just need another 30 people to buy my book, so I can justify making these purchases |

Whew! More than I imagined. And I'm a little embarrassed since I have Party Animal, Lennart Green and The Devil's Picture Book. I must have an aversion to the trick. (There's a card to shoe in the Devil's Picture Book!?)
You may be able to eliminate Standup and Deliver. It has a Card in Sox where the card winds up in a rolled up rubber banded pair of socks. I can't find any mention of a card to shoe. |

For the swtichcraft, is there any 'pre-show' involve? Or could it be perform with no setup?

...almost 32,000 views so far. Is this a record for the Café?
Huss...no preshow involved unless that is part of a certain included routine. Spend the money.

Tom’s right. There’s only one effect in the book involving pre-show. I wonder if I’m jumping the gun, getting all excited about “A Shuper Perfect Prediction,” when I haven’t even released the supplement that’s supposed to come out beforehand?
Maybe I’ll send out the other one a little early, just so I can get it out of the way. |
