I'm trying to get some good out of the Tango CSB I bought. Yes, I could have spent more on a nicer set etc, but I was returning one item to a store and needed to pick up something similar quick.

I find the nest talks when being unnested. Aside from confining the trick to noisy environments, is there a technique for doing this? The instructions that came with the set were pretty useless but the coins look fine now I've polished them up.

PM me if the secret should remain closely guarded... Any help would be appreciated.

L&L released a video on CSB and Two Copper/ One Silver that has a few unnesting moves. I have a cheaper quality set that is very old and I had to find another move to make the routine work.

I recently picked up the semi-pricey Johnson set and, as I posted elsewhere here, it's not a completely snug fit. It is a bit loose. Not having anything else to compare it to, I don't know whether it's less loose than other versions. I haven't started seriously learning a routine with it yet, but I can't imagine that there is a version out there which totally eliminates the possibility of noise. It would seem to be something inherent in the gaff.

Will be curious what others here have to say.

Mine's a very loose fit, too, which I guess is intentionally so...

Poker Chip Surprise is easier to do and quiet. See it at http://www.porperoriginals.com

I did notice that by palming the nest in my fist, with the S facing outwards, the C and B drop into a position that remains quiet till I open my hand and display the change. This must be the best technique to avoid the rattling, at least with my set.

PS Pete, I am sure the Porper set is made very well and will be a popular version of the trick in the USA but here in Spain most people haven't seen gambling chips in thir lives.

Poker Chip Surprise is the final answer in copper/silver/brass routines. The chips are bigger, very colorful, far more visual, don't talk in the least, and don't leave your hands stinking like a hardware store. A very aesthetically pleasing set of props. A major staple in my close-up performing repertoire.

Is it possible to get extra poker chips with the Poker Chip Suprise? I'm using Cody Fisher's routine which requires extra brass and copper coins.

As for the rattling, mine rattles as well but just try to remain "in balance" and it will not rattle that much. Also most of the time outside noises tends to mask the rattling sounds. Btw has anyone bought the C/S/B set from the SILVER COINS section in magic warehouse? I'm not happy with my customn set because the gimmick is too thick compared to the Johnsons set

I visited The Magic Warehouse but when I tried to order a set the site replied that the aforementioned sets we're out of stock which I found to be very disappointing. Regarding coin sets, the readilly available sets that I've seen out there are Tango's (which is pretty bad), Sterling's (which is half decent) and Johnson's (which is probably the best though my coins are pretty tarnished and don't match the gaff very well at present). Lassen's and Schoolcraft's we're pretty hard to get and required months of waiting. Anyone know of any other sets out there in Magicland?

Try putting some tape in the shell. If you're careful, you can even get a very small potion of the outer edge of the tape to bend up into the rim without binding the coin. I've had success with this in the past.

Use the l.h. to place the nest at the base of the r.h. fingers. This is more natural than reaching into the l.h.. Close the r.h. by bringing the fingertips lightly on top of the nest and turn r.h. back up. Nest turns over automatically. Open l.h. to reveal S. To reveal C & B, slightly straighten r.h. fingers, lift s**** at front edge with tip of r. thumb, and pull it back towards palm as r. hand opens and turns over (and relax r. thumb into a normal position). Much easier than it reads - can be done quickly with no visible adjustments - looks very natural.

I find a good way to disguise rattling is simply by shaking a hand that's supposed to rattle, if you're supposed to only have one coin in the one hand, and you've got two, and the other coin actually has the two, just squeeze that hand tighter and make a motion that would indicate rattling to some degree.

Most audiences won't be looking for the 'correct direction' of sound especially if its such a close proximity and the noise is going to be distorted by your hands anyways.

I have both the Johnson and the Tango C/S/B. I like the chinese coin better in the Johnson set (both of them), but the rattling potential seems to be about the same for either of the sets. I was frustrated by it until the first few hundred times I practiced. Now any talking is nonexistant or at least very very infrequent and very minimal. If I am talking at the time of any moves it is more than enough to cover any rattling. I also did put a little scotch tape inside the s**** as well.

I believe they also sell a teflon spray . This works well if applied very thin.

I don't think the rattling matters at all with all the outside noises. Has anyone ever been caught with any of this rattling sounds? The only time I was caught performing C/S/B was when this guy said "hey how come the copper coin has lines (mills) now? It wasnt there before". My mistake for tilting my hands too horizontally Smile . A lesson well learnt though
