Any music suggestions for a silent act doing the Pavel walking knot? I plan to cut / stop the song whenever I separate the rope and continue song when the rope is joined. This will happen three times in the routine. It could be instrumental or with lyrics.

I just did it and used the song by Phil COllins "Both sides of the Story". When I hit the cue just right I showed both halves of the rope with the line in the song "you need to see both sides of the story"

I am planning to use my walking knot for kid shows. Previously, I have only used it for adults. I am still insecure if I can perform this for kids. I am still in search for the right kind of music.

"Baby Elephant Walk". It's all instrumental, it's kind of funny, and kids should get a real kick out of this modern classic. It will be new to them. I can see this going very well with this trick. Pausing the music at various points should work nicely.

Google the song and listen to it.

Joe,

Yeah, I was telling Lou that it just popped into my head when I visualized the trick. I hadn't thought of that song in years, like most of Mancini's stuff, but I love his work.

There are some real good instrumental oldies that kids today have not heard. Maybe it's not their daily cup of java, but in the context of a fun magic show, I think they'd really get a kick out of them.

When I was growing up (probably you too) many cartoons were backed with classical pieces. The people who made these cartoons were clever. I was very familiar with Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, etc. by the time I was probably 6 or 7 and didn't even know it.

As odd as the images were, it did help to put plots to the music. I still hear music the same way today, visualizing magic instead of Looney Tunes!

Hi Lou:

Have a look at this routine. I like the way the music stops as if it is the rope itself that makes the musical "connection"

The great late Topper Martin used to provide his own music by simpli singing it himself.

I'm just wondering why would you use music in a kids show, but if you insist on it check out http://www.magitracks.com/custom.cfm for custum music.
