Hi Paul - thanks for spending time here...

I'm trying to learn a bottom deal but am having real problems due to the size of my hands (i.e. their not quite large enough to make the so-called "diagonal pressure" between the outer right and inner left corners). This means I try to make the deal using a type of straddle grip but it looks a bit dodgy if I'm honest. Do you know of any other bottom deals I could try which don't rely on a straddle grip or the diagonal pressure?

All the best

Have a good Christmas

See Roy Walton's Complete Walton Vol. 1 for an excellent bottom deal that works a little differently.

Gene Maze's idea can be adapted to many hands.

The Diagonal grip may be adapted to yuor hand. A lot of descriptions tellyou exactly where the originator puts the deck in HIS hand, which is certainly not the same as yours. Try to understand whay the deck is gripped the way it is and see if you can achieve the same thing in a way that's comfortable for you.

The bottom deal from Buckley's is from mechanics and very good, imho.
