Hey everyone,
I was wondering what are the magic shops I should check out when I go to New York City in the near future? Names and addresses would be great. I've never been there and only found one online. Thanks in advance, T.J. |

Save your money. The only thing magical to do in New York City is at Monday night magic. The two shops that I know of aren't worth visiting. Al Angello

Haha alright, thanks for letting me know. What is Monday night magic. I'm not familiar with it.
Thanks, T.J. |

I'd definitely say to check out Fantasma. 33rd and 7th ave above Sbarro's pizza. Nice shop to hang out in, usually some good folks to talk to, and loads of Houdini memorabilia to take a gander at. Prodcuts range from kits for the kiddies up to the nice Porper and Colin Rose stuff. Well worth the visit I'd say.

This pains me to write, since the beloved Lou Tannen sponsored me into IBM back in 1967 when I was 12 years old, living in Iowa, and didn't know a single magician.
However, it must be said that Tannen's shop now is a ghost of its former self. I really wish someone with some energy and vision would step up and restore it to its former grand and illustrious stature, both as an awesome retailer and a great place for magicians to gather. |

Michael Chaut, the managing producer of Monday Night Magic, is a great help. You can reach him off of their website. Give him a call, and he can hook you up with tickets.
Monday Night Magic is a MUST DO if you're in NYC.
Tally-ho! And Tuscarora too!
