I don't think he stuttered, Dannydoyle.

If you have a good Scotch and Soda ready, it's a great effect with tonnes of uses, and is definately world-class.
It is no sin to attempt and fail.
The only sin is to not make the attempt.

Haha, I see. You must be a card kind of person, huh? So am I.

Stupidabe, why no cards? There are literally hundreds of impromptu effects with cards. A third of those effects are very easy to perform.

ONLY hundreds? I personally know hundreds, there are thousands. And indeed 1/3 of them are pretty easy to do.

I am not a card guy or not a card guy, but I am not sure peoples need to be against them is all. It is confusing.

No cards is because that makes this post harder to reply. And sometimes it gets me thinking about maybe we rely to much on "card magic".

Here are a few that I know and can do that are truly Impromptu and have worked well for me.

In my opinion there's only "World Class" magicians, not tricks.
--------------
Coins: (Quarters may be substituted for Halves)
"Just Pretend" - Variation from 'Modern Coin Magic'.
Coins Across - There are several variations.
"Hanging Coins" - David Roth.
"Down the Sleeve" - David Roth.
Coins through Table - There are several variations.
"Coin to Pen Cap" .
"Coins to Glass" - Coins and drinking glass.
"Half dollars in the Mist" - John Carney.
"Soft Glass" - Carney.
"26 Cents Worth of Change" - Michael Close.
"Questionable Trick" - Greg Wilson copper/silver transposition.

Bills / Bank Notes:
"Ghost Bills" - Andrew Mayne.
Bill Switch - without gaffs.
Impromptu Pen thru Bill.
"Traveling Cash" - Dan Harlan. Bill and elastics.

Pens:
"Recap" - Gregory Wilson. Pen.
"Ring on Wand" (Pen) - Vernon.
Impromptu Pen thru Bill - Pen and bill/bank note.
"Coin to Pen Cap".

Elastic Bands:
"Crazy Mans Handcuffs" - elastic bands.
"Traveling Cash" - Dan Harlan. Bill and elastics.
"Rubber Ringer" -from 'The Collected Almanac'. Finger ring & elastic.

Finger Rings:
"Rubber Ringer" - 'The Collected Almanac'. Finger ring & elastic.
"Stirring Silver" - Jay Sankey. Finger ring & spoon.

Paper:
Impromptu Cups and Balls - Dai Vernon.
"One Cup and Balls Routine" - Senator Crandall. Paper balls and an opaque cup.
"Benson Bowl" - Paper balls and an opaque bowl.
Salt Shaker Thru Table - Napkin, coin, salt shaker or small glass.
"Flight of the Paper Balls" - Slydini.
Torn and Restored Napkin.
Center Tears - Mentalism effects.

Cigarettes:
Cigarette Up the Nose.
"Cigarama" - Frank Garcia. Similar to a Jack Chanin effect from Tarbell.
Broken and Restored Cigarette - Eddie Fechter and Slydini.

Body:
Ghost Touches - Ghostly touches. An oldie.
Cold Reading - Tell things about someone you don't know.

Other:
"Florida Keys" - Gregory Wilson.

-----------------------
You will see some effects listed twice.
The reason for this is so I could pair off effects using the same props.

If you want effects that are percieved as Impromptu then that's a new game.
