I've done a'lot of thinking today about the topic of members' conduct at meetings or maybe more appropriately "proper etiquette" at meetings. Does anyone know of any articles that cover such a topic??

Has anyone ever waxed eloquent about the topic here?

I'm thinking along the lines of:

When/when not to offer suggestions to other members re: their performance.

Any comments or references would be appreciated.

Paul,

You would think this would be just common sense. But I know exactly what you mean.

Let me do some checking around and we will see if I can find something that has been written up on this subject.

Here is a few comments from Tom Vorjohan regarding the question at hand:

I have written about "Constructive Criticism" on multiple occasions over the past 12 years in my column. Some groups have video night, others have private critique sheets. The best way to get/give criticism is from friends. No one wants to hear from Magic Joe the clown and birthday party magician on how their latest Chavez homework looks.

Seems to be common sense should prevail. Use the Ring as a basis to build friendships and then you will have a group that give you feedback constructively. However, always tread lightly!

Tom has a monthly column in the "Linking Ring" Magazine.

Thanks Tom for your words of wizdom.

Thank you, Steve.....wise words. Honestly, though, the older I get, the less I believe in the commonality of "common sense". :/
