I really liked the billiard ball manipulation routine in this book. I used it in my first talent show, except I used the multiplying sponge balls instead of billiard balls. What I like about it is that the routines flow and make sense in the book. Perfect for my first talent show since lots of the patter was there already. It's still my favorite magic book I own.

And this 49-year old beginner, with quite a nice library, very often goes back to Wilson. It is, I think, the best value for money in magic ever, period.
I would very much like to do coins, I have got Bobo, but it is such a long time before I can be proficient at the sleights and I can't wait! So I started with the coin through handkerchief (both methods) out of CCIM and it slowly turned into a nice little routine, with more similar (but sleightly different) effects, out of Tarbell (and an embellishment out of Lorayne's Magic Book). The guys at the magic club were suitably impressed. Proves that you don't need knuckle busting stuff do get a nice result. Another nice story where Mark Wilson helped is this. Recently our magic society did an evening show. More than 3 hours of solid magic! Audience of 472 punters. With my background in the theatre, I was to be the M.C. The show started out with a lady singer and they wished to magically transform her into ... me. Quite an achievement as she was a tiny little thing and I stand 188 cm and weigh a solid 108 kg. During rehearsal they tried to do some sort of mummy illusion, but the gathered magical minds there couldn't get it to work. So, humbly, I suggested the classic way of doing it, using what Mark Wilson so adequately describes in his book. It worked, we decided on it, used it in the show and it was a hoot!. Long live Mark Wilson! And everyone, please remember the golden rule: SIMPLICITY FIRST! Ciao for now Erik

I love the last trick in the book- what I'm currently learning to perform. The chapstick caper. I think the only piece that's missing out of that trick is to make the bill restored. Up in Canada- we have to use $5 bills, rather than the $1 so it'd be nice to restore it to give it back.

I use the cups and balls routine.
At our last SAM meeting my 13 year old cousin did the 'You do as I do.' I had totally forgotten about that one. He did a really nice job. |

The torn and restored napkin goes over well with my younger relatives.
Never done it in a show, but it's a personal favorite because of that.

I pretty much learned all my first rope magic from this book. Cut and restore rope, impossible knot, one handed throwing a knot into a rope. Can not tell you how much a simple cut and restored rope trick can freak people out. Good stuff.

It's one of the best books to begin with. I can't say that the square circle box is my favorite one in the book but it was one of the first ones I built and was used right away. I've built other versions since the first one but still have the original and still use it. It's alway good to get ot out and look through it from time to time.

I have so many Magic books that CCIM is the easist book to learn from. Why is this book so easy while all the others are so hard to learn from? People who make books and DVDs just love to talk, talk, talk, and talk that I wish they would just shut up! I always end up going back to CCIM for a quick read, because it is that simple. Why can't these other people just learn something from CCIM on how to write a book?
My favorite? There are so many good material in this book. I like color changing deck and many others. Thank you Mark Wilson. Sincerely Keith Mitchell |

I love Mark Wilsons CCIM. Santa Claus gave it to me about 20 years ago and I still use it to this day. One of the first tricks in the book is called Fantastic Five. I've used it in my close up show for over ten years and it absolutely KILLS.

I had this book in hiding for years and recentely pulled it out and like I stated before, it's like I struck gold. Not even close to being HALFWAY through the book but so far I really like New Card Monte (Page 117 in the big book with the Reputation Maker section). Presented correctly it kills. Checked out the sucker torn and restored napkin at others requests and boy, what a fooler. Great book.

I had this in my draw for years and recentely pulled it out and like I stated before, it's like I struck gold. Especially with all of the "Big Name" tricks that I have, It makes it even more stunning. I haven't been through half the book yet but I really like "New card Monte" if performed properly (Page 117 in big book with reputation maker ending) and "sucker torn and restored napkin" was recommended to me and I love it. I'm sure there will be more favorites, just haven't got to them yet.

His T&R Napkin, (along with Daryl's version) are excellent, as well as the sponge balls...

Love the book, don't think I could really pick a favorite, lol. I do love just about all of the card tricks though. Some favorites though would be sandwhich aces, elevator card, and many others.
