I'm working on a comedy act and I thought of this.
You're on stage and starting to do the Silks off Hanger (A person call out a color of silk that is on the hanger and it comes off the hanger.) My way - wrong color comes off and with a little acting, I would hold up the silk in front of me and my bowtie changes to the color of silk and so on. What do you think? Any ideas?

That's a little too subtle for most audiences. They might not even notice the bowtie has changed color. I'd save the bowtie for a time when you can call attention to it. If it's the four-way color-changing bow-tie that requires both hands to operate, it would be difficult to work it in to the silk trick. However, you can find out for sure by giving it a try in front of a live audience. If they sit there scratching their heads (or worse) then you know it's not working well.

Thanks Spellbinder
That is way I have been going back and forth about the trick. Do you know of a good comedy silk trick?

Jerry,
If this is a comedy act all the way, I think you could make it work. A good helper on the spotlight would be nice! Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

Sometimes you just have to do some things for your own edification. Sort of your own inside joke to keep things interesting. If there are one or two folks in the audience that "get it", their comments to those who missed it could make the others want to come to another performance to see what they missed. It has to be worth it, though.
Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...

Thanks to both of you. " Bob and Amosmc " I keep thinking about this trick.
Bob, yes it will be comedy all the way. I've even thought if the audience does not notice the color change, then I could pull out a mirror and look into it. What else could I do to make the audience notice the color changing bow tie?
