Steve,
I will take your word that they are different. But to be fair, I don't think I ever said it was the same as "Stuck." I said a) it doesn't look much different (which is true) and I said b) after learning "Stuck," I can perform the trick in the video using that method. (which is also true). The other video you posted here looks cool - but it seems a little angle sensitive, no? |

Hi all,
Coin Devil put up a new video, I know some of you'd probably like to check it out so here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZ7H4TPcPT0 It didn't work for me at first but I think it's kicked in now. You may have to try it a couple times if it doesn't work for you. He said to mention that this video shows more to rule out the popular places of concealment. He also said that the reason the modern coin vanishes are looking so similar is because they are converging as they move towards the point of perfection. I guess it makes sense that if all the coin vanishes were being done right they would all look similar, perfectly natural. I asked him to post here and maybe answer some questions and I hope he will. He's pretty normal besides the "I CAN'T DRIVE" fish on his fingers. I've seen it on a lot of cars but never on fingers. heh Thanks again for the input on this effect. I'm taking it all in, your comments are greatly appreciated. Even the guesses They will help to mold the final product, which isn't complete yet. I'm off too bed and am probably going to try to sign off to this thread. I get caught up in these chats when I should be doing other things. Thanks for your consideration of this effect and thanks for your time.. and for not flaming me! Steve

Hi Scott,
Very nice vanish. Is it something you devised or is it a marketed vanish? Regards, Steve

Its definitely a new way of vanishing the coin, but I figured it out first time I saw it. It hit me immediatly and I know I'm correct because it was a magician friend who showed me this. It was easy for him, in real life, to show me because he is shorter than me lol.
The secret is ingenious. I don't care who you are, give respect to the guy that made it. It is a good effect but not something I would use. Give the guy some repect, it IS an ingenious secret; but I was playing around with it (the secret) before I saw this so that's how I knew the secret. I liked it, Ian |

The presentation does look strikingly similar for a moment there but I assure you they are not at all similar in method. Sometimes a gesture is just a gesture The right hand isn't involved with the trick in this case. http://youtube.com/watch?v=jZ7H4TPcPT0 http://youtube.com/watch?v=8hVLRyj8EF8 Both of those clips use the same method. I'm sure you can see the difference. Again, great video. I like what you're doing there. Steve

I just bought this, because I had some spare money in my PayPal account that wasn't being used.
It's not bad at all...I was pretty pleased actually. The method is kind of similar to what I thought it would be, but different at the same time. I was surprised to see that the coin really does go inside the fist. I own Stuck, and you can move your hand around a lot more with this vanish than the one in Stuck, and the angles are more friendly...so this serves much better as a complete vanish than the Stuck vanish does. I don't know if I'd use the main version...I like a couple of the other impromptu versions included though. Overall not a bad buy, if anything given me a few ideas. Nick |

I agree with Hawk-Eye (Nick) that you have greater range of hand movement with the Devil Coin than with Stuck. While I like the Devil Coin and the variations, I really hope Steve can convince his friend to release Guardian Angel.

On a side note, this should be in the "Nothing up my sleeve forum"...having it in a forum all about trick coins and gimmicks might give the wrong idea.

I'm really happy to see you guys are getting something out of the video.
I thought it was different enough to market, plus the secret gimmick used in the Devil Coin is a nice revelation to a lot of folks who were already looking for a suitable secret something for use in other effects as well. The immediate reaction has been very positive. I'm hoping this will encourage Coin Devil to share a few more ideas. Thanks again, Steve
