I wonder if any of you purchased this article and if yes can you let me know what you think of it? Is it as good as advertised?

I purchased it and am glad I did. There are no threads involved at all. Let me just clarify that. I hate thread work and this uses absolutely no thread, elastic or otherwise, to achieve the rise. The gimmick in the book is absolutely undetectable. I mean you can let someone flip through the pages and they will find nothing. You can show both sides of the book as shown in the video because there is nothing to see. What you see in the demo video is what you get. The spectator(s) can chose any page in which to place the cards. I believe the method is extremely clever and this prop lends itself to many possiblities for sure. Well within any performers ability at any skill level. I must mention however, that the Tarot version is not available or wasn't when I purchased mine. I bought the playing card version but intend on using it with the Ellusionist Vintage 1800 playing cards (or poker size tarot cards).

The only problem, if you want to call it that, may be is that the card cannot be signed. I really don't see that being an issue though with this item. The only other item to note is that you can not tip the book so that the spectator gets to see where the card is coming from (which I don't know why you would). That too I feel isn't a problem but I thought I would mention it to cover all bases. Now bear in mind these two items are in no way problems in my book, just items I thought I would mention.

Dan was certainly pleasant to deal with and prompt in shipping this item to the US. I will also say that the photograph version of "From Hell" routine I bought was also very nicely made. Quality and attention to detail. Extremely happy first time customer here.

To answer your question "Is it as good as advertised?" My answer would be that in this instance yes it is as I had high hopes after seeing the demo. If you like the demo, you will like the product.

Hope this helps,

I second that.
Dan sells some great products and is a pleasure to deal with.
As for the book of revelation and "From Hell" photo edition, the good part is that you can mix both and have a picture rise from the book... Far more efficient than a card in my opinion.

I also own one of Dan's Book of Revelations. Yes, it's as good as advertised. You can give the spec the book and let them leaf through it before inserting the card or cards. We use one in our seance shows and it plays very well.

Hey thanks for the idea Ben. Hadn't thought about mixing the two. Like I mentioned, it lends itself to many possibilities.

That's a great idea Ben, I never really thought about that.

As for the Book of Revelations, thanks for all the replies. I know I didn't start the topic, but I've had my eye on the item for a while as well and was previously unable to find any comments on it, so thanks.

I have just received my own ' Book of Revelations".

The service from Dan at Lebanon circle was excellent. This is a lovely way to reveal a previously forced card or photo etc.

Think up a decent story and you are off to the moon with this.

Excellent stuff.

FYI,
There is also a place on Dan's site in the forums where people who have purchased this item can share ideas on presentation/usage.

Can they REALLY shuffle the cards before FROM HELL? I am interested in what can be done with both effects. Can you get the Jack the Ripper book or is it extra?

Dan provides a couple of ways during the routine (methods are on the CD manuscript provided) if you see the need to. I would just like to say that you can do the routine with one card/photo if you wish. You can reveal it rising anyway you wish. The choice is yours. And you can do the effect with any card of your choosing if you so desire. If anyone has any concerns or questions feel free to contact Dan. He will answer any questions that anyone has. He is pretty busy with all the orders and all but he will answer you back.

I have From Hell and have received rave reviews. Now Dan has the Jack the Ripper Diary available for the rising From Hell photos:

Im pretty interested now. I already use MOABT though for my stage show but Revelations is creepy enough to supplement From Hell. The card effect though (even though nice concept) didn't pique my interest over my rising card except the book can be examinable. That combined with a photo or business card (please not a playing card) certainly looks interesting. I am giving this some thought now. Dan has been very helpful to me from across the pond no less.
