Running up to Christmas, I resurrected my old show, which is SJ Escape.
I started doing the show about 15 years ago, and I have only done it rarely in the last five years. The thing is, I forgot how much I love doing this show. It's some what different now; that is, my character has developed. The show lasts up to 45min, and that includes crowd pulling, but I do enjoy this more than C&B at this time. Without doubt, I will still perform the C&B at different times, but right now, I have made my escape. Mario |

Mario,
I have a question for you. When doing your SJ show, do you use other tricks and bits of business to build your crowd, or are ya just bringing them in with the sight and description of the escape? I have found that the SJ, if done right, can rest on its own, but was wandering what your approach is. Any help or input is greatly appreciated! Bobby
I am truly blessed to have a job where people are laughing all the time and everyone believes in magic....Come to think of it, I'm blessed to even have a job.

Just a question, I'm not trying to be funny or a smart alek, but has anyone ever tried to grab your props and run while you're all tied up?
Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I worry about stuff like that. |

Hi All,
To answer your question first, Bobby, I play my escape as a comedian so there is a whole build to it. Lots of play with the chain, clowning around, then introduce props, The Saterlight Dish of Doom, the animal trap, which leads me stripping down to my Lycra underwear for the escape. On the other hand, I won the FCM.UK 2006 Stage award doing just my escape in Feb. Hi, Scaress. There is danger but, more than my stuff, I am concerned about me. There was a time when a volunteer that wrapped me up slapped me hard across the face once he finished. I must admit, I got a good hat for that. Mario |

The SJ escape is a great show. I do it all summer - and a version of it with a self-made Tom Horn Belt at the ren-faires. I just love doing it, and the audience seems to never get enough. Great to hear that you'll work on the SJ again - because I was given a brand new Street table this Christmas (My brother made me one. He's a carpenter.), so I'll hit the streets with the cups. But I'll do my large circle show, as well. Can't escape the escape.
