This effect and gimmick(s) may work extremely well with Brian Platt's Catapult effect whcih is a terrific DVD and highly recommended.

There is also a great wild coin routine on the DVD.

Peter,
Yes, and using Ice Coins in place of a poker chip or other regular coins that Brian uses on the Catapult DVD I think would make a great routine. Michael

I am having a trick that is being called Siler Extraction which is coming with an clear half dollar disk with detail of a half dollar on it. Is this being better than a plain clear disk for this routines?
Think not what magic can do for you, but what you can do for magic.

That is a good idea, but for several of the routines we have put down you put these gimmicks/discs against the coin you are using and the gimmick is invisible unless you look really closely. I use the gimmicks mainly as an end to my coins across though, without revealing too much the spectators end up with the gimmicks in their hand and are absolutely convinced they still have coins, the patter I use is the coins are going to vanish, this is the strongest use of these gimmicks IMO.

Chris, any thoughts on selling them without the dvd for less as well. I only ask cause I wouldn't mind both dollar and half size?

I have sold the rights to Alakazam Magic Joshua, so you need to ask Peter, as far as I know you will be able to get them seperately but not straight away. Is it half dollar and dollar size you wanted?

Yes. I use mostly halfs, but there are some things I think the dollar would be better for such as a silver extraction.

I saw Chris perform this today. His coins across routine is very good - strong visual magic and ideal for walkaround. You will need an extra (common) gimmick for the actual Coins Across routine that Chris uses - it's on the DVD - but the ICE coins climax in the spectator's hand can be used as a kicker to pretty much any Coins Across routine.

The demo left me wondering. Are they glass or acrylic? Glass could be fragile, while acrylic, although more durable, may not have the sparkling clearness of glass and may scratch easier.
So which is it? Now I strained my eyes to see this in the video, but could not tell. Are the discs totally smooth on the surfaces, or are they designed so that they have the imprint of the coin they are supposed to be representing? The latter would be VERY cool, while flat, smooth glass discs might be construed by the spectators as, uh, well, flat smooth glass discs.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

Yes they are acrylic so they are not going to break easily. Not long to go now!!! From what I heard, they are smooth on both sides, and have milled edges...i could be wrong though

It should be released at Blackpool next week, 23rd Feb. I hope you enjoy the ideas we have put on here, the main routine (coins across) is a routine I use all the time in paid gigs and it gets great reactions. Everyone is asking about putting designs on the discs etc. trust me when you see how I use them in the above routine it will all make sense.
BTW a little bird tells me Mr. Williams has a DVD of his own coming out, congratulations Chris, can't wait to see it, whens it out? |
