As some of you may know already I'm only recently returning to magic as a profession. But as a substitute teacher I have become known as that teacher who can "draw anything" and that "does magic."
For the students I do impromptu utilizing paper clips, string, coins, etc from a teachers desk. but I also keep in my Sub Teacher Case: "What's Next?" "Sponge Balls" a silk thumb tip aspirin

If I'm stepping out prepared to perform a few miracles I usually have:
1.) 4 Coins (dollars or halves) 2.) Blue deck (with blue and red dup) 3.) TT and silk If I'm travelling a little heavier, I'll add a few of these depending on my mood: Coin purse or Okito box More coins (copper, copper/silver, or ex]) Multiplying balls Ellis ring Gaffed knit balls and PK ring

I always carry my hands and an entertaining attitude! And I'm always on the lookout for an opportunity to plant something, especially at dinner or the bar. Even if I don't do anything, I like being one ahead just in case =D
Cheers!

Hi,
I carry way more than 5 but here are my main ones (I'm assuming pulls and stuff like the STS are excluded from this)- - Hopping Halves - Pinky tip - Rubber bands for crazy man handcuff trick - McDonald's aces - Invisible deck and I add in a floating cigarette/match/toothpick card. Technically that's 6, sorry. |

Presumably, you'd only make a souvenir of it should you get to perform? I'm usually out with only a deck (or two)! Regards, Jason

- Deck of cards*
- Sponge balls* - Half dollars* - Nickels to Dimes - Scotch and Soda - Any good packet trick * These are the best items to have, in my opinion. I like to be armed and ready for a routine, rather than just one quick effect. |

Hi Dave, I have a nice little color changing knife routine in my notes. It's been audience tested and plays very nicely (at least for me!). PM me if you want it, and I'll send it to you.

I think you should also keep in mind that some pocket tricks can seem a little bizarre to just be carrying around in your pocket. For instance, most people don’t carry a paddle (for Hot Rod) or poker chips in their pocket. If you carry common objects like coins, dollars, etc. and use them for tricks, it is much more deceptive. A deck of cards is usually not something someone would carry around, but if it's a standard deck it doesn't strike up too much curiosity.
