Strangely I got mental fusion in the mail, from precision magic. strange cause I never ordered nor paid for it. Effect is great, its set up heavy so that's somthing to consider but id sya it would be well worth the cost for formal close up

I got this the other day and I have to say that this is one of the most confusing routines I have ever seen. What is the effect? And where is the crediting?
This reminds me of some Canadian Magician I saw who did a signed selected card to a sealed deck routine, although, not as bad. Shawn Fuqar? (need help with spelling) Is this a translocation effect, a melting of two cards together effect like Anniversary Waltz or is it mentalism? There is no strength to this routine. Your audience may be scratching their heads wondering how you did it, but give them some time and they will be able to figure it out. In this routine, the effect is the method. Straightforward, no blocking, no rerouting, no presentation. Any intelligent audience is going to follow this like a path with cookie crumbs leading to the answer. And there are way too many props on the table for this one effect. It is the most overhandled way to pull off an effect like this. While the premise is good and would seem to deliver, it reaks of immaturity on the part of the magician to release this effect so prematurely. This is at best a work in progress and not near ready for the market place. Buyer beware. This has some interesting ideas in it, but they aren't Jeremy's and they don't go together very well. I picked this up because everyone was saying it is supposed to be strong magic and it is just the opposite. It is confusing magic that is so disconnected that the audience just says who cares. This is just my opinion of it though. And since this is a review board, I thought I would give mine. |

I just watched Mental Fusion. I wanted to let everyone know that this effect is nothing like BELIEVE. It doesn't use the methodology, nor is it the same effect.
Jeremy did say that BELIEVE inspired his creation of this effect and maybe that is where everyone was confused. Inspiration is good. I was inspired by Paul Harris' Anything Deck and thus came Believe. Mental Fusion is not Believe. Thank you Jeremy for sending me a copy to clear up the confusion. Cheers, Aaron

My Review.
Effect:A spectator is asked to select and sign a card. Another spectator is asked to think of a word. The signed card vanishes from the first spectator's hands, and reappears with the other spectators thought of word printed on the back, in a sealed card box. Well, this effect plays out just as described. The spectator can think of any word….no force and the choice and need for the multiple envelopes are well explained and justified. The required sleights are quite simple and within the grasp of anyone who is willing to put in some required practice time. There is a setup involved and some prep work. The instructions on the dvd are clear and concise and easy to follow. I would recommend that you don’t go performing this effect straight after watching the dvd but instead put in the practice and finetune the performance and presentation until you are quite confident with the moves. I can assure you that the finale on this effect…..... when the selected signed card from one spectator with the chosen word (from another spec) on the back of the signed card is revealed as its taken out from a another brand new factory sealed deck of cards…it would bring forth some gasps from the spectators. IMHO, for $25….this is a decent and workable effect and I certainly will use it. 8 out of 10. Ps: Just like to add that after the first copy of the dvd got lost in transit in shipping, Jeremy was kind enough to send me another copy .Great customer service.Thankyou Jeremy felix2 |

The demo was almost useless due to the editing. Without voiceover, it was difficult to determine what was going on in the demo. Anybody else have this problem? Seems like a cool effect, though. Might get this one.

How were you able to perform this effect 10 minutes after you got the DVD? With all of the detailed prep work, I just don't see how that would be possible. Maybe after an hour or two.... It is a great effect, though. The DVD quality is poor -- the image is often blurry. The instructions provided are very in-depth, though. This effect requires A LOT of sleights. Definitely not the kind of effect for someone who does not perform sleight-of-hand at all with cards. |

I have Mental Fusion and Believe. Mental Fusion is an amazing effect! And not the same as Believe.

Hi all,
I just got Mental Fusion, watched it. Have yet to perform it to non-friend spectators but seems pretty strong. The great thing is, apart from the dramatic final result (two "separately signed cards" merging into one AND appearing inside a card box), Jeremy's methods used to achieve this result are quite instructive - including box preparation, instantaneous loading, etc. And the methods can be used by beyond-beginner-level magicians to improve or devise other effects. |
