I'm sorry if my question is too revealing (if so by all means simply ignore this post), but I'm a bit confused with the application of this glue here.....is it meant to be an ID material alternative or is it resembling the function of the old "dark card" gimmick? Or is it simply a glue for making gaffs?

For a temporary stick, I use chap-stick.

very usable and wipes off when you're done using it.

I use the Avery Glue Stick to the exclusion of the other brands. I use it even more with newspaper and cardboard tricks and gimmicks than playing cards. But I know a good thing when I find it. This is a must for any magician's "war bag". (Do store it in a plastic bag to keep it fresh and smooth spreading.)

(It will temporarily stick a coin to cloth too!)

Bob,
What else do you keep in your "war Bag"? This thread has some great advise, I am going to add a glue stick to my prep materials, but I am also going to try chapstick, I had not considered chapstick before. This thread is definatly "sticky" material.

I ordered a 3M Scotch Restickable Glue Stick from officedepot.com two days ago and it arrived today. This seems to be much better than the spray. Just the right amount of tackiness. No "pop" when the cards are separated. Clean - no mess.
Not totally invisible, but if applied to a face card or the back of a card, for example, it's next to impossible to see.

I just tred the Avery. It worked great. Just let it dry before placing the cards together. A little touch is all that is needed

Luke Dancy has some very cool ideas for using products such as these.

One of Daniel Garcia's effects depends on this pretty heavily, but it's one of the coolest givaway effects you can ever do (if you're up for all the work necessary in the setup).
Called 'Fraud,' if I remember correctly.
