Last month I e-mailed Ian Rowland and asked him if he'd republish his 'Sense of Touch' book.
His response: "I have no plans to re-release SOT. I would like to do a second edition, but I can't because of copying and piracy. In the magic world, small booklets like SOT get copied and scanned so quickly that it just isn't economically viable to print them. There are places like the magic Café and eBay where people trade in legitimate second hand copies of SOT and other booklets, so you can try those. Ian Rowland" This is a sad truth Mr. Rowland speaks. Will this state of affairs prevent other magical creators from publishing short works for fear of rampant plagiarism via the internet, instant scanning into .pdf files, etc.? Dai Bato |
