Has anyone bought a Pavlov puppet? If so, what is the quality like? Are they durable for the constantly working entertainer?
Best, Chris |

I bought one of their gooses for my mother, she does Mother Goose with it and loves it. Video and pictures on my website. Pricy, but worth it.

I have the Dog and the Pupkins characters.
They are awesome!! Suitably 'cartoon' like and a piece of cake to operate and manipulate. They come to life very easily...in the right hands. Ivan and Maria are superb puppet builders who are also very nice people with terrific service. I would recommend them to everyone. Dean |

I bought a Pavlov's pig (Hey with a name like Bacon, what else?)
I have even included him on my new avatar here. He is really well made. I just added a couple of personal touches to make him more unique. He has become my main character now.

I don't own one of their puppets but a lady vent had two of them at the 2006 VentHaven conventions. I can say the quality and workmanship was a superb. If you contact me I can send you a picture of her with them.

I think that they actually have the shot in question on their website too. She has the Donkey and teh Pig from memory....the old pig not the new one that is. they started to phase out amany of the old designes and give all the puppets a much more cartoon like look. Great stuff.

I've purchased the horse, the lion, the mouse and the monkey.
They all look great. Great reaction from the audience. One thing I like about their puppets is that they are super LIGHT. A short comparison with Axtell
- Pavlov Puppets' features are not as detailed as Axtell's. - There are a lot of different puppets available at Pavlov which Axtell may lack. I have ordered from Pavlov often recently because of my various educational school shows that requires different puppets and Pavlov has them. I'm targeting at their snake, elephant and the Hedgehog next year. |

I recently made my first purchase from Pavlov and am very pleased. First off, I asked for a modification (color). They responded immediately by searching out the fabric that matched the photo I sent. Within three weeks the puppet was in (or on) my hands.
These builders are artists. Their creations are well built and filled with character. Neale Bacon brought his pig to the VentHaven convention where I got to examine it up close. Thanks Neale for letting me put my hand in your pig (I never thought I'd ever say that to another human being). Here's my Pavlov Ant http://www.petrapuppets.com/library.htm |

I also have the reindeer now (bought myself a Christmas present) and have just ordered the Beaver. (Another great Canadian symbol)
Because they are my new main characters, my show is now called Neale Bacon and his Crazy Critters. I have other critters besides the Pavlov ones too, but I love the Pavlov puppets. Great expressions, easy to manipulate and light! To see my other critters, check my website. Click on the New for 2008 show!

I love my Pavlov duck - he has quickly become my main character and audiences really enjoy him. In fact, I ordered a back up in case anything happens to the original.
Just posted a new youtube video with him - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9qPKmlJNZA Please keep in mind the focus on this video was sound subs and lip control - so the manipulation isn't exactly up to show level. But it gives you a good idea of how much character Pavlovs put into their creations. (Also have their Chimpanzee - but haven't really had time to develop his full character yet.) Tom |
