Just wondering whether any one would know if there is a good commercial table ever released that allows you to vanish items from a table top?.. I.e Place something on top of a table, put a cloth or somethiong over the item, pick the item up and viola??
any thoughts would be great.. NBz |

Brunel White's "1910 B.W. Masterpiece Table" was the basis for many switching designs for both tables and trays (although the tray version was the invention of Servais Leroy). It is described in White's book "Original Mysteries for Magicians." The principle is still used in Chalet's Balloon to Dove tray, although it is spring powered and White's design was not quite so "snappy."
Plans for the switching device in a tabletop design are also included in Jim Gerrish's PVC Pipe Illusions Book 3 (PVC Table Assistant) on my site.

Are you looking for something like the "Black Art Well Table"?

Without knowing more specifics you could look into a black art well top or a table servante at the rear of the table. A wonderful example of this is the old TV show from the 70's showing Richiardi's Canary in Egg routine. The whole thing revolved around the handling of two tables, one with wells. Very well done.
"What's your drug?" she asked. "Hope" he said, "The most addicting one of all."

In the Hoffmann books, there are detailed descriptions and illustrations of table traps. Some are quite elaborate.

Hey guys, basically waht I'm looking for is to have a table which I can vanish a bottle or a vase, both even maybe. I'm just curious about what's out on the market... would a black art well table allow me to do such a thing?

What I'd absolutely love would to have a table with a large table cloth, so after the vanish of the semi- large items (glass, bottle, vase), come back and tear away the cloth to show under the table as a kicker.. just in case some people suspect that that's where its gone

You should look into Owen's Vanishing Floral Display
( http://owenmagic.com/Flower_Magic/V_Flor......lay.html ) The table is thin to begin with and both the feather flowers and the vase vanish instantly with no cover at all.
