Haha Omid , I've never usen Grob or BIRD in any of my tournaments . It was always
1)Kf3 ( King's Indian )

Do you play legal moves?

Here's a better test. If you know what zugzwang means (without looking it up) then you are a chessplayer. Don't give the definition yet; just let us know if
a) you know what it means,
b) whether you've experienced it, and
c) if it's something you enjoy.

Could you give me the numbers to the International Masters? It would be nice to play someone of my skill level. Do you think they have played more than 3 games before?

The Bird statistic may not be a fluke.

See IM Timothy Taylor's recent masterpiece on the Bird. In addition I knew a player (Keith Hayward), a very strong postal player who was also strong over the board. As black he just did ok. As white he played the Bird and has several GM scalps with it.

Don't worry about the From Gambit in the Bird...Taylor handles it very well. It is now basically a free pawn.

Thanks Mota

I'll check it out, I've always preferred the Ruy Lopez if I'm white.

Still struggling. I think you mean 1.d4 Nf6. Of course, this does not necessarily lead to the KID, you've got a way to go before the opening can be classified. Most notably, black will have to play ...d6, ...g6 and ...Bg7 in the next few moves.

I think he does mean 1.Nf3, leading to King's Indian Attack.

Yes I did mean 1)Nf3 , King's Indian Attack . I won't push up d4 and c4 later in the game but will go into a more closed game with d3 then e4 ...

And yes , I do know the opening lines for 1)d4 2)Nf6 .....which is the K.I.D like you said .

For 1)d4 I'd rather use 2)f5 going for the DUTCH .
