I would like to hear your comments and thoughts about Incubus, a Steinmeyer's creation. Rick Thomas performs it and when I saw it, I was really impressed by the effect. The appearance of the assistant is very visual and surprising. It seems to be a very big prop!

Is this the same effect as "Goon Box"?

In Incubus, the girl seems to rise from the magician's head, not chest (Goon Box).

Incubus is not Goon Box,
Incubus Illusion ( re appearance of a girl from a Performer cover head),
Goon box is a Re Appearace from a frame in front of a performer body or from a box .

Don't under stand the illusions

You stand with your back the plank of wood and place a cover over you head and girl appears?

Is that about right, any one seen it in a show?

Just a question on Jim's latest book "The Complete Jarrett" which was talked about in reference to the Incubus Effect. His statement from that newsletter:
"The book is over 500 pages, filled with beautiful illustrations and a wealth of photos from one of the most amazing careers in magic. It will be published in a limited edition of 1000 copies and, with no publication date and no price yet, I've already received orders! Watch this space for further details. I can't quite say enough about this book."

But, the one now for sale under the name "The Complete Jarrett" states:
"With an introduction by John McKinven. 288 pages. Large 11 by 8 1/2 inch format, hardbound with foil stamped cover."

what happened to the other 100+ pages?

About the plank of wood...can it be shown and placed just before the appearance of the girl? If not...

I worked w/ Steffan Soule and in Mysterian. I like Incubus quite a bit, but it's pretty big...but its definately different than anything out there. Goes great w/ Osmosis, which is how Steffan used it and how Rick Thomas used it. No, the plank can not be shown before hand. But, you don't need to. You can clearly see all through the prop, behind, around, etc. It's amazing. The first time I saw it, it fooled me. I knew the basic principle used, but I didn't know how it was applied.
