Jimmy Dixon was a great inspiration to me when I saw him at the Mid South Fair when I was a kid. Probably around the early 1970's. While my father and I were sitting in Jimmy's tent on the midway, watching the master magician levitate a beautiful woman, then doing a wonderful linking rings routine, and then wrapping up the show by placing the lovely lady in a cage, then watching her slowly change into a gorilla. Then the mighty gorilla broke through the bars of the cage, and my father pulled me to the side of the tent as screaming spectators rushed to get out of the tent and away from the terrible beast. From that moment on I've been fasinated with everything concerning the carnival and circus. Thanks Jimmy.
