Years ago I switched to using the comics (even my dove harnesses) instead of the regular newpaper for kid and adult magic because they did not ruin my costumes like newsprint does. But how many of you use the comics instead of the regular newspaper for newspaper tricks with kids?
It seems that it would just be a better fit. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

Bob,
I agree that the comics would be a better fit for kids. I am not currently doing any routines that require a newspaper in my show, but if I start using them again I may try the comic section! Great idea! Regan

Remeber too that after the paper is a day old the newspaper will give you all you can use. (They need to be duplicates. I can cope with FREE!)

I'm surprised I never thought about it before. Torn and Restored will be a good effect. Another one would be In The News. I'm going to look into it. Thanks Bob.

Unkani,
The real Doctor Bob! You know better than these other folks why the comics is my part of the Sunday paper. To me they are the news! Comics I nearly understand! Who wants a black and white newspaper when you can get a color one? It's really good to see you on the Magic Café. Hopefully I'll get to see you in March at the Cavalcade of Magic in Eureka Springs. Tell the folks in Ring 75 "Howdy" for me. (Yep! You're now on Howdy Duty!) Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

I'd love to do comics but my local newspaper (of which I am the editor) hasn't had an 8-page comics section in 20 years. And like many others, we've gone to "tabloid" sized comics inside our "boradsheet" Han anyone else had to accomiodate for this?

If you iron newspaper it reduces ink transfer.
A domestic iron is all you need but do remember to clean the soleplate before your loved one irons her white dress!!!

Ironing the newspaper before presenting it to the reader is a traditional job of a very good butler. Unfortunately, here on the ranch, we don't have one!

Something I'm looking at doing for my summer show is a magazine tear, using sheets removed (in front of audience) from a kids magazine. Prep work is required and the magazine will cost some money up front, but it has it's strong points (age appropriate content/pics, re-use the magazine a few times (not the same sheets, though), a volunteer removes a corner to keep and to prove the torn pages are not a duplicate). Instructions found on steve dacrys video.

That is very convincing to the audience.
