MY GOSH! That's a LOT!! I carry (at most) my large Lefler table (sometimes my Viking Pro-Table instead), and another case (either a Jumbo Sidekick, a Khyber Kobra, Pro-Viper or something similar) and MAYBE another effect that's too large to fit into the table...something like a Wolf's Magic "Run, Wolf, Run". That's it. Larger birthday parties of over 50 people, I might take my Anchor "Explorer Pro" speaker/amp with the built-in wireless microphone (Countryman). Never more than a single trip for a birthday party. I can't imagine what the inside of these people's houses would look like if I took that much stuff! They'd probably think I was moving it.
Things must be different over there. Steve |

That's about what I was taking when I first started doing paid shows about two years ago. And yes, I got a lot of "you're moving in" comments. But, more for myself than anyone else, I stream lined everything. To this day, whenever I'm setting up or striking a show I think about how I can stream line what I bring with me.
Right now I bring along my Lefler table (in which fits most of my show along with my Icue and anchor), and my Wacky Weasel. That's it. No more. No less. One trip if I'm on a flat surface. Two if it's bumpy. --Jon |

1 large duffel bag, 1 slightly larger Ikea tote bag - that's more than enough. They hold SCADS of stuff.

Wow lol, that's really a lot. I'd love to see a parent's face when you bring all that in. Then again, maybe it proves you are worth what you charge (it looks like you have more material, so it looks like you've paid more for your material I think )
Hello there!

How many trips does it take you to get everything in?

More products - great look to the eyes - More show - more money.
The parents love to see all this so they will like to pay me more. And I have an assistant. He helps me take all of it to my car. Everybody is happy, so also me. |

My set up time is also 30 minutes. I use to have a clown as one of my package deals. While I set up the first 30 minutes, a clown immediately entertains the children. Next, I do my hour of performance. The last 30 minutes when I take things down, the clown is entertaining the kids again.

My puppets are in a trunk, my magic show is in a suitcase table. Then there is a rabbit carrier. That is all I need for a birthday show and it takes me one trip from the car and 5 minutes to set up. For bigger shows I also carry a Spider-flex backdrop and a large trunk which contains 3 big props and the P.A. system. Set up time for that show is 15 minutes. If I'm working on a showground or on the street I can fit a 45 minute act into the puppet trunk alone and there is no set up at all - I just open the trunk and go.

For birthday parties I offer a half hour or 45 minute show. I carry in a Folding chair and a valise. Setup up and break down time is less than a minute and it is one trip to and from the car.
I'd never even consider using a backdrop as most the houses I perform in simply haven't the room for such an extravagance and I'd feel foolish using a microphone and sound system in a persons living room.

I cary a brief case, a shoulder bag, top hat, and my jump stool. I need a quick pit stop to streighten up, and it is show time, in less than 5 minutes. I love to perform in the round, because the adults always think they can out smart me. HA HA HA

DMagic,
That's a lot of stuff to haul in and out of people's homes. If it works for you though, go for it. For BD parties, I have a Lefler case and a small travel case that everything fits into -- including my mini PA and Boom Box. I try to allow myself 20 min for setup.

One rollon-type table/case. If it doesn't fit in there, it doesn't go.
