I Watched this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7GtALfRM98
Is he a clown, or a magician? (He does lots of magic trick) I am funny like a clown, all of my prop, and routine are very funny, but I'm a "magician". Who can explain the different? |

Magical Clown. To me a clown does physical comedy and doesn't need the full make up. A magician does magic...but a clown can also do magic but should use it to compliment the physical stuff.

Neither. Both. Clown. Magician.
The distinction between artforms is blurred constantly and little is gained by pigeonholing performers. Is Jerry Seinfeld an actor or a comedian? Was Buster Keaton a mime or a physical comic? Does cirque de soleil full of acrobats or dancers? The key is to take from the artforms themselves and not get sidetracked into labelling PEOPLE! |

So the different is just the cloths?

Not always...
If you base it on clothes then John Wayne Gacy would be remembered as a children's entertainer and Charlie Chaplin as a bum. |

I don't think the kids really care about his "job title".....
I don't think there needs to be a difference or distinction...just unique characters. |

A funny magician tries to maintain a degree of dignity. A clown has no such limitations.
Chris old buddie Now here is one that Dudu won't understand "I'm a comic magician", which is both a comedian, and a magician. Al Angello

Speaking of a degree of dignity. I liked the top hat more than I like the turban. Al Angello

ENTERTAINERS of MAGICAL SMILES!!!! Not clowns or magicians
If you are magician and you do a comedy trick then you're a clown too. If you are a clown and you do magic then you're a magician too.

A dignified clown is an oxymoron. Like world's largest midget, or jumbo shrimp. The only Italian clown that I've ever heard of was Pagliacci, and he was famous for crying. Al Angello

The fellow's none of these things. He's a children's entertainer.
Magic, clowning, balloons AND a LEFT handed guitar player. I'd like to see his show. I wonder if it's as good as the sum of its parts? Then it should be exceedingly good.
