Can anyone recommend to me some good books on storytelling?
It's a skill that I need to develop to better perform my magic. Thanks |

My suggestion is that you should read books (not magic books) and fairy tales, listen to your fantasies and maybe relate to dreams you had to get some inspiration.

I would also seek out story tellers. It's one thing to read about how to tell a story. It's quite another to witness someone perform this nearly forgotten craft.
Many Rennaissance festivals will have a story teller. It's worth it to go a spend a few hours seeing them. Also many libraries will have a children's program which will feature professional story-tellers which are open to th public. A google search for "storytellers [guild OR association]" brings up many groups who support storytelling. You might find someone near you that you can see.

Hitman,
One thing that I did that helps IMHO is to join Toastmasters International. (www.toastmasters.org) They are giving you oportunity to practice public speaking and after you finish with the basic manual you can chose two free advanced manuals. So, you can chose one on storytelling and one on persuasion. Hopefully, there is a club in Portugal. If you want more info PM me, Marco Venier |
