Hey everyone,
There is a thread on this over in the Penny for your Thoughts section, but as someone over there pointed out it should be here in the Latest and Greatest section. Here is a link: Teslavision. It is the link to the product description from Elmwood Magic. I am not suggesting that you purchase anything from Elmwood (there have been some previous accusations of my involvement with Elmwood, which there is none), it just happens to be the magic store that I use for most everything so this is where I found it. Anyway, what do you guys think now that it's out and available? Sounds like a convenient device for the mentalist, but as I do not perform any kind of straight up mentalism I do not know if I would find a good use for it. |

This type of device puts me off ever attending a mentalist show. I would be gutted if they used this to achieve results.

Great news TeslaVision is there already :
http://www.elmwoodmagic.com/full/Magic-T......4445.htm Read this: Nikola Tesla was a world-renowned Serbian-American inventor and physicist who is best known of his revolutionary work in the field of electricity and magnetism in the late 19th and early 20th century. Telsa's patents and theoretical work form the basis of modern alternating current electrical power systems (AC) - including the AC motor which helped usher in the Second Industrial Revolution. He was probably first introduced to most magicians in the recent film “The Prestige” as a character portrayed by Davie Bowie. In the United States, Tesla's fame in the scientific community probably rivals that of any other inventor or scientist in history or popular culture. After his demonstration of wireless communication in 1893 and after being the victor in the "War of Currents", he was widely respected as America's greatest electrical engineer. Much of his early work pioneered modern electrical engineering and many of his discoveries were of groundbreaking importance. Today, James Biss has finally revealled his application of Tesla's revolutionary Wireless Impulse Technology for the first time - with incredible results! You'll receive harmless but distinct sensations to the right and left side of your body, secretly delivered to you from your accomplice in the audience. These impressions can be delivered from up to 100 feet away - silently and with perfect clarity. It's as if Tesla himself were giving you a tap on the shoulder to guide you around the room or to discreetly inform you of what's occuring behind your back! Lighter sensations. Stronger sensations. Longer sensations. Shorter sensations. Combined sensations. Countless combinations and variables from an innocent looking wireless pager tucked away on you and a key fob in the audience. TeslaVision costs hundreds of dollars less than anything available to pros today and yet it does the job silently and reliably as never before. The package comes complete with an astonishing warranty. The possibilities for professional mentalism masterpieces are endless. Included in the 15 page illustrated booklet however are four powerful effects, routined for maximum entertainment value in the style of James Biss' other best selling works: PARANORMAL TOUCHING: Tapping senstations from spectator's shoulders without coming anywhere near them - really! PYROTECHNIC PSYCHOMETRICS: Psychometry and more behind your back - with your eyes closed! NEEDLE IN YOUR HAYSTACK: Finding spectator's keys hidden in the audience - in the show closing tradition of the Amazing Kreskin! DREAM DATE REVISITED: The now classic divination of Person and Place and Setting on stage, but now with pocket sized guidance. These routines alone will be gold in the world of psychic entertaimnent. You'll carry this pocket-sized technology in your glove box of your car and create stage-sized blockbuster entertainment! With your eyes closed, because there's…NOTHING TO SEE OR HEAR…YOU'LL JUST “SENSE” YOUR TESLAVISION! |

Yep, that's word for word what I linked to in the original post
Sounds pretty good to me, but it is a bit pricey. |

What would be the advantage of this over a standard 'thumper' device? I see merit in the paranormal touches effect but it sounds like it would require a very creative load onto a spectator.

Range...Reliability...Quietness...and especially multi-variable signaling blkralik. It's like comparing a Black & White TV in mono to a HDTV in stereo from the performer's stand point I think.
Pricey? Compared to what Brian? It's hundreds less than anything decent on the market... I'm sensing I should stay out of this though...according to the tingling impulses I'm getting from the TeslaVision I have on as I type this on my right and left side... ;>) Cheers, James

I didn't mean pricey in reference to anything James. I am not a mentalist though I do perform some mental magic and prediction effects in my show. For myself and then nature of my show, $300 to be able to do what this advertises would not be a worthwhile investment. For others I'm sure it would be a bargain. I didn't mean anything by it when I said that. Sorry

When I first read the fuzz about James Bliss having stolen the idea of impression board, I gave him some benefit of doubts. Now I just saw the description of the Teslavision in an online magic shop and I couldn't believe it. It is based on an item that another great mentalist invented way before. Anyone can actually order that item for less than 100$ and James has the nerves to sell the same item for over 300$.
Just go on like this James. You really start to make your self a name. |

Netmotion, what is the other item you are referring to?
