I don't think he's gotten that far in the series and we wouldn't want to spoil it for him Smile

He could be talking about the afterlife (Put your religion of choice here.) He is just pretty much saying that death is the middle of our existance. If any of you recall what Sir. Nearlyheadless Nick said in the end of the 5th book, " A Wizard can become a ghost only if he chooses to."
Good theory, but I find it unlikely that Harry is Dumbledore in previous lifetime, if that is what your saying. Prehaps his death will help Harry build character, it was just something that had to happen for a reason. I grew up believing that everything happens for a cause, terrible events will happen to us, we have two choices, we can fight or we can do nothing at all. That is called building character. Prehaps that in the final confrontation with Voldemort, the wands will join togather again, Dumbledore, Cedric, Black, Lily and James and who ever Voldemort's next victim will be will help Harry defeat the Dark Lord.

To tell you the truth, after seeing Voldemort in the Goblet of Fire, I knew that he was too evil to live to see Harry's 18th birthday!

What are we going to do when the Dealthy Hallows is released in books stores and the Deathly Hallows is released into theaters? I've waited for a new harry potter book release since the 4th grade and now since the book series is almost over, what are we going to read? and once the Dealthy Hallows is in theaters, what are we going to be waiting for next? It is a happy moment as it is a sad moment. Maybe Rowling will think of something new or possibly something that expands the HP Universe, possibly more sample books? or even a new Trilogy based on the original story line, such as Harry's midlife crisis?

There is a parody of the HP series called Barry Trotter, these books are mainly about after Barry leaves the "Hogwash School for Wizardry and Witchcrap" so perhaps Rowling will folow suit?

Really though I think many more HP books could spoil the magic of the story, perhaps Rowling should kill Harry off in the last book?

I believe I read on one of the HP web sites that Rowling was thinking about writing an encylopedia of the wizarding world. If so, I suspect it would be fertile ground for many new ideas.

well something has got to happen. we have to know what Harry does later in life, if he survives she will have to do something to sum the story up, you can't just stop.

Huh ? I never alluded to that.. unless ..heh.. unless you're saying the Half Blood prince was Dumbledore .. ? (I thought the HPB's initials were supposed to RBK or something like that..maybe I'm confusing things there tho)

No. No mention was ever made to whether Dumbdore was a mudblood or not. But I won't spoil it for you and tell you who it is. You'll learn when you get to that book.

My question is with Neville Roundbottom. He could be the real hero of the series.

It has been reported on the Internet that Daniel Radcliffe has signed to do the movie version of Deathly Hallows. So he will play Harry Potter in all the movies.

Meanwhile, he as received rave reviews for his performance as the stable boy, Alan Stang, in "Equus" in London.

This is the beauty of books...they can be read again.

And I think of a great many potentially inspirational novels that have been available that I have not yeat read, most notably the majority of the OZ series and a lot of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. I also have to catch up on Gregory Maguire's releases.

It is great if Daniel Radcliffe has signed on to end the series. The whole cast however is aging faster then the movies can be produced. I wonder if the cast will still be believable as teenagers in two years?

no, Daniel will be at least 19 or 20 years old when the final film is released.

Heh..

I thought the identity of the Half Blood Prince was still a mystery at the end of the book, unless it's something that's obvious with the right clues .. ?
Don't anyone tell me who it is though !
I'll be finished Chamber of Secrets tonight or tommorrw night at the latest, so I'm catching up.
At my current rate, I'm managing about 1 book per week (that said, I know they get a lot bigger after PoA, and PoA is slightly larger than either SS or CoS)but also, I'm starting to read faster now.. it's been so very, very long since I've read fiction of any kind !! I only get about 1 1/2 hours a night, while I eat a late dinner.
For the past 12 years at least, the ONLY books I've read have been technical manuals for computers and networking (or magic books, but hardly a "novel" kind of read as they're instruction manuals too, really) This is different, it's kind of nice to be able to go back to really "reading" again without having to stop every other paragraph, fighting to grasp some new arcane technical concept or remembering a list of some kind.

Just bored, so I thought I'd revive this old thread..

I believe I mentioned the Leaky Lounge ( http://www.leakylounge.com ) forum previously, and how hawkish the moderators are there. They're polite and all, but man, they work overtime.. I made 5 or 6 posts there today, and every single solitary post was modified, merged, edited, or removed by a moderator.
That is just harrassment at this point. I think they're trying to tell me I'm an idiot who doesn't know how to post, or be polite, or something. The first couple of things didn't bother me, but when it got to be every post I'd made today.. and almost every instance of moderation was done by a different moderator, so I can't even say it's just one who has a thing about me.
Consider yourselves forewarned should you decide to create an account there and join in the "fun".
I have never, in all my Internet years, seen a forum like that !
It's a freakin' Gulag. They should call it goblingulag.com or something.

Well, I'm now on page 100-something of "HP Order of the Phoenix" - I'm gettin' there ! That's four down, and slightly less than two to go, to get all caught up.
Phoenix is huge though, 870 pages I think ? Well over 800, anyway. Sheesh.

I too came up with my own Harry Potter parody, I just couldn't help myself.
It's actually got a theme with continuity to it !

Harvey Pothead (and the Hooka of Destiny )
Herbmione Ganger
Bong Weedly
Hempwarts
Professor Doobiedoer
Hashrid, the grounds keeper
Professor Snarc -poisons - distills alcoholic beverages, shuns da weed
Professor MaBongisfull
Professor Sprout (no change needed there !)
Professor Flicklit
Doobie, the house elf
Boggarts - creatures that swipe yer stash and keep it to themselves
Dada class - Defense Against the DEA
Serious Hash (Harry's Godfather)
Nymphadora Tokes (Auror)
Reefer Skeeter (Reporter)
Mad-Eye Mootie
Weedus Loopy
Minister Cannibis Fudge
Bluntbeak, the hippospliff
and of course,
Lord MoldyWort - another pro alcohol/anti-weed baddie ("wort" is what beer is called before it's fermented)

More as I think of 'em.. Smile
