Any comments on Jack Kent Tillar's material? I'm particularly interested in The Assumption Swindle and Choice, Chance or Consensus.

Just want to bump this old question.
Anyone checked out Jack Kent Tillar's THE ASSUMPTION SWINDLE? I am thinking of getting it - but I haven't seen any reviews for it. Cheers! Joe |

Add my recommendation as well. This, along with his ESP "Test of Tests", are my two favourite Tillar publications.

Jack is one of the great thinkers in mentalism, an Oscar-winning movie composer, and perhaps the kindest gentleman I've ever met. Can't say enough about Jack Tillar.

I wholeheartedly agree with gabelson. Jack is one of the most respectful and humble men you'll ever meet. In addition to winning an Oscar, he has also won the prestigious Peabody award and an Emmy for his music compositions.

He could be a lesson to a lot of us. For someone with his music and magic creds, he is egoless, gentle, polite, kind...you could go on and on. Knowing Mr. Tillar makes you dislike any pompous ego in others even more. I think he is someone to emulate both professionally and personally.

In my experience. The most talented people are the people with the smallest egos.

It is a principle you will learn, there are many applications in the book, it is something you can use to create new and own routines if you understand it which is not difficult...to use it under close up conditions might be a bit challenging, but with the right management it is possible. Jan

I have only recently read Tiller's Assumption Swindle. From one principle, he teaches an extensive range of effects that are informed by that one principle. By the time you finish it, you are thinking of other possible expressions. This very reproductive feature makes it one of the most useful books in our field.
