Hello, I am beginning to set up a work shop to build props both small and large. Wanted to say howdy to all of you builders...
I am also wanting a reference book to aid me. I've built a number of trunks, production boxes, a version of a doll house etc a number of years ago. They worked fine, but were rough in aesthetic quality. Can you recommend a book or books on building nice quality "furniture". I was thinking about getting a cabinet makers book of some kind to help me with hinges, corners etc. I am planing on making a wardrobe effect in the next 6 months or so and I want it to look like a fine piece of furniture you would find in a home, but collapsible and gaffed of course. So hello again, and thanks for any suggestions

Check your local Barnes and Noble, Borders, or other local bookstore. I recommend anything by Taunton Press (the publishers of Fine Woodworking Magazine), but books such as this are best purchased "live and in person" so you can see exactly what you are getting.
Another good source is the user reviews at Amazon.com.
Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...

Thanks, I'm thinking of going to a Lowes or Home Depot...I will look for the publisher you mentioned.
