Hey,
Do you think that performing mentalism in somebody else's space works? For example, if you are table hopping, is a mentalism routine suitable to perform at their table, or would you ask them to come to your table later on? Do you perform a mix of normal magic before you go onto mentalism, or do you prefer to keep the two seperate? |

There is no right or wrong about mixing the two together. Whatever pleases the audience.
When mixed together it is called mental magic. A lot of people think certain effects are mentalism when really it is called mental magic. Remember, "Mentalism" requires the mind. "Magic" requires the props. Mentalism is an ancient performing art in which the practitioner uses mental acuity, principles of stage magic and/or suggestion to present the demonstration or illusion of mind reading, psychokinesis, precognition, clairvoyance or mind control. One of the earliest recorded performances of a mentalism act was by diplomat and pioneering sleight-of-hand magician Girolamo Scotto in 1572 |

That is actually a quote from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mentalism It's poor form to try to pass off the work and words of others as if they were yours (and since you did not cite, nor even put quotes around it, that is what it seems like). -Carlos
