I have a creekmore dancing pool cue that works well with my ball routine but it is very flimsy and the nylon screw that holds the two pieces together has broke a few times by bumping the cue into something while practicing. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could make an aluminum dancing pool cue that would be more sturdy?
Thanks. |

A friend of mine years ago, made custom fishing rods. He bought hollow, tapered, fiberglass rod blanks and applied the fittings and finish. The blanks themselves are very light and came in a great variety of sizes but, I'm not sure they make a taper that will closely resemble a cue stick.. I have no idea where he bought the blanks and he has passed away. You might Google search custom rod building supplies.
Our friends don't have to agree with me about everything and some that I hold very dear don't have to agree about anything, except where we are going to meet them for dinner.

Don't' use an aluminum rod.. they're heavy.. or fragile or both..
Go to some place like Bed, Bath and Beyond and get some shower rod cover.. use regular scotch tape to tape the taper.. use a real cue end to finish it off.. Prime it with good spray primer.. and paint and/ or decorate like a real cue. It'll be super duper light.. and suprisingly durable.. and.. since it's so light.. you can use 8/0 fly fishing Uni-Thread to make it float. The stuff is so thin that you can almost do it in daylight.. |
