I have been wandering if I should buy it for some time. What I really want to know is what you can do with it. All I know about it is that you can use it to make a coin disappear off someones hand without touching it.

You can also use it for other PK effects. Check out "Lets Make a Deal " here as somebody will be selling one for a discount and you can see if it is for you. Wasn't for me because I didn't care for the hookup. Others just love it.

I like the raven. Not only can you make a coin disappear off somebodies hand, but you can make in turn into something else in their hand. It is very magical.

In my opinion I would say no.

Besides doing close-up in restaurants here in Vegas , I'm also a Gaming Surveillance Specialist of 26 years. I am ocassionaly asked to give educational seminars to the brand new Gaming control agents in new jurisdictions. To gain complete attention from my audience of these Law enforcement folks I always open up by placing a $100 cheque on the crap table in front of where the boxman sits and demand that no one blinks their eyes.I slowly pass my hand high over it and whoosh its gone. Jaws drop and now I have their undivided attention for the next 2 hours. The raven when used once with no need to reset makes for a truly magical experience.

My disappointment in the raven is the size of it compared to its relatively weak strength. Not that it is so weak that it doesn't work, but I was kind of surprised how big it was compared to the relative strength. I think it could have been made much smaller.

Strength as in strength of effect, or as in weight of object it can vanish?

Not the strength of the effect, but the vanishing power versus its size. It's just that, for the size, I should be able to vanish a volkswagon. It just seems like it is larger than what it needs to be, and could be made smaller yet more powerful. I'm not putting down the raven at all. Well mastered, the overall effect is strong. I just think it could be re-engineered and refined to be a much better product. Michael |

If you had a pinpoint gimmick, you'd have to catch it right on the tip of the pin every time and that would be suspicious. Also, if you're making $100 cheques, cigarettes, dice, playing cards, very large coins, etc. vanish and/or appear, you'll want to have a large surface area for contact with the larger item. I'm pretty sure that Chuck Leach noodled around with numerous different designs for quite a long time before settling on the marketed Raven as we know it today. Stick Man: The Raven is perfectly fine for what it is. Before you make your decision, also check out the Bat and the Pro PK Kit. That way, you can make a fully informed decision as to which one - or which combinations of more than one - of these types of gimmicks are for you. Cheers! |

Really whether it's worth it or not is quite subjective. It's worth it if you can achieve with it what you could not without it.
Personally, I feel it was poorly engineered. It's too wide thus causing snags. I cut mine down and it's only as wide as a finger. Now, it's way more versatile. You really can do some very impressive stuff with one if you practice and use it right.

I think the magnet is strong enough for what it does. I wouldn't really want the object to vanish when my hand was 6 inches over the item. It would be easier to see it happen.
I would think you could modify it and place a stronger magnet in it if it suited you better. Seems to be rather easy to modify. What all has anyone used to vanish with theirs. I am still just using what came with mine. I really need to get the video on it so I can come closer to it's true potential. Chris |

You should try making your own raven if you know how it works.

It would be unethical and immoral to make your own based entirely on designs belonging to someone else. If you're making your own just so that you don't have to purchase one from a reputable dealer, you're nothing more than a common thief. |

I don't agree with you sneakers. The concept is so simple and I'm sure that many people have also come up with the idea. The gimmick is very expensive and could be made much better if you make it yourself.

Try the M5 as you can do more with it, like making objects move about.

I have looked at the M5 but the price is what puts me off. Yeah you can do great stuff with it but when I watched the demo my mom figured that it was a magnet!
How expensive is the Pro pk kit and where is it available? |

You can get the Pro PK kit for 95$ at chazpro. If I were you I'd just make it myself
