Im wanting to replace an on and off switch on a small electrical item Im working on with a time delay switch. In other words, after switching it on, I don't actually want it on for another 30 seconds. How can I do this (Im hoping it is simple, the guys at Radio Shack were no help at all)

Thanks!

Do you know anyone that dabbles in electronics? This kit

..does exactly the opposite of what you want it to do! (it switches off after a predetermined delay) - But with a couple of quite simple modifications it can be made to do what you want it to. - I have used it quite a few times in things that I have made requiring a delay - card fountains and suchlike. - (Basically you need to change the transistor supplied from an NPN to a PNP type. (or the other way round!)) - it will work fine from a 9 volt battery.
