Which one of the two booktest do you think is more entertaining to an audience? White Pages or Newspaper.

Richard Osterlind performs it on Volume #1 "Easy To Master Mental Miracles" (Telephone Directory).

"Practical Mental Magic" has a few methods with a newspaper.

Whatever fits your style. Magazines, new papers, phone books, blank pages, porn, tabloids. I'm sure there's something there you can identify with and make personal enough to make test out of. The best thing to do here is to make it fit your personality and your show. There is no "best" or "right" choice. You have to make it you.

Tincture is correct. As you have been told at least a few times already DM, you have to actually try it out yourself to see which one works best for YOU. That applies here, and to absolutely everything else that you may be tempted to ask in the context of "What (blank) works best?" I'm just getting a head start for the next time.

Richie, I'm surprised you listen to Tincture. Can't you understand he just wants to be a nuisance. Remember, you are a real mentalist, do not let a fake mentalist fool you.

Richie, I am new with this professional. I do not know all the methods and techniques. If you would of listed some pros and cons dealing with the topic, I would pick from that. Members gave me different choices on nail writers, peek wallets, booktest, esp cards, other effects too. I made the choice of which fits me the best from all the statements I was given.

A newspaper usually gets more of the "blank stare-open mouthed" reaction for me. I have seen the hint of suspicion in the eyes of folks from the phone book. I don't know why the one plays stronger for me. Also I think the paper seems a bit more impromptu.
