It could also be possible that in the not so distant future, coin of any kind will be an oddity, owned by collectors and magicians or for nostalgia.

Some magicians, like Pete Biro have moved to using poker chips, with the popularity of poker it is quite logical and in many cases much less out of place than coins. I have also seen a magician or two that does some great manipulation with CDs, both the standard size and the smaller one.

We as entertainers do need to create an acceptable primus for our audience, for what ever we use in our magic. This way they are able to focus on the magic and not the props.
Our friends don't have to agree with me about everything and some that I hold very dear don't have to agree about anything, except where we are going to meet them for dinner.

The coin dealer up the street offered 3 worn silver dollars for $35.00, one each, an 1880 an 1890 and a 1927. All are worn, the 1890 being in fairly good shape ( my opinion , I'm not a coin collector). The 1880 is very worn and very whitish in color. The 1927 "pidgeon" is very tarnished. All the printing is still legible though I considered the coins soft. He stated the price of silver coins now is $14.00 each just for the silver content.
Life is too important to take seriously.
