This is an oldie but a goodie.

bet your mark that you can push a pool ball along the pool table further than he can.

rule is you can only use 1 finger to push the ball and you must press down from the top of the ball. he will try and the ball will only go a short distance before stopping. you try and your ball always travels all the way to the end of the table.

secret:

you wet your finger in your mouth before pushing down on the ball. this will ensure your ball will always travel further.

I thought this was going to be the one where you bet someone they can't put a pool ball in their mouth. WARNING do not try this. Because of the shape of the mouth it is easy to get the ball in, however very difficult in most cases to get it out. In most cases they have to go to the emergency room and get a shot to relax the jaw so the doctor can streach the chin down enough to get the ball out.
This is to be done only on someone you really don't like, you lose the bet pay the money and leave, you are in your car before they realize they can't get it out. Decide how much cash it is worth to you to shut the guy up, because you will lose it. If you follow with Bitterman's idea it goes from being a really mean prank to criminal assalt. I can only think of a few people I would be willing to risk jail to pull that on.
