Hello!
I did a quick search to try to avoid annoying anyone and I couldn't find a thread that really addressed what I'm looking for (although I did get some good ideas). I'll cut to the chase - I've always used pure sleight of hand and I am considering purchasing my first gimmick. I am looking for a suggestion on a gimmick with a lot of utility. I was considering just a shell for some coin work. I'm not looking for a whiz-bang gadget like an m5 -Dan |

A TT is a good place to start.

I have never really considered a chop cup as a gimmik but that is great because you can use slight of hand and yet go that little bit further

No question about it: a TT.
(Then spend the next 10 or 20 years learning all the ins and outs of using it! <G>) |

yeah- a tt is a nice place to start. If you are good with it you can almost base you whole table act around it but. They are however becoming well known thanks to little kids magic sets now.

You could also consider a Topit.

My suggestion is to think of the effect you are after first and go from there.
If you are already thinking sh***. I would get a Johnson expanded hopping half set and a C/S coin to go with the set. This group of gaffs along with the slieghts you already know, will be just what you are looking for.
...think not that all wisdom is in your school. You may have studied other paths, but, it is important to remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, there is always more to learn.
