I wonder what happened to get them to agree to play together let alone tour.

I'll be amazed if they make it through the whole tour. I saw them at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Dinner in NY a few years back and and Sting and Stu Copeland were about to go at it after two songs. The looks Sting was shooting his hyper-drummer were priceless. I say it all falls apart after the first week, which is too bad, because they are playing Fenway Park here in Boston

Sting is playing with some of the best drummers in the world. I guess he is rather spoiled in that regard.

Copeland is also great - but more in an experimental type of way. Surely there will be some differences . . .

Three months ago the guitar player, sorry I don't remember his name as it isn't that important to me, said that he and Copeland would love to get back for 'a concert, if Sting will agree, but I don't want to charge for it, we have enough money, I will only get the Police back together if we agree that it won't be for money". That is why I'm surprised by the whole tour thing and to hear it will be that expensive tells me that they are full of BS, as usual.

The article I read didn't mention that they weren't allowing Svengali pitch men. I'll bet Sting had something to do with that.
