The link was uncovered. Thanks for the compliment. It was fun to work on.

Criss Angel did this exact same effect on one of his past shows except that he used ordinary playing cards instead of the large picture cards that Patrick used. Up until this moment and due to his reputation of using stooges, I just assumed that's how he did it. But now I see that evidently this can really be done without stooges. So is this effect available anywhere?
Thanks. Craig Crossman |

I did it before chris's show was even on the air.

We would never doubt you were the first mr.Redford:
chris [or his "creative" team] seem to have two habits. 1.Using stooges for most of what he do. 2.Freely take inspiration from effects created and performed by other people and then maybe claiming those effects are new ideas his team "came up with". |

To be fair, this effect was published somewhere else. I simply re-worked it, presented it differently, and put my own spin on the effect. The original in print, used cards.

Sounds like a good opportunity for the invisible deck to come out ...

To add another artist into the mix Looch has a great psychological Pool routine on his 'Your thoughts are mine' DVD set. Released date TBC..
We filmed it in a busy pool hall and it went down a storm I believe one of the spectators said "How the xxxx did you do that?" No playing cards in this one though, just predicting the outcome of the game, what balls would be left on the table.. Really strong with a photographic prediction.. No NW.. MS
It's not goodbye, just see you later...

As I was reading through this thread I was thinking to myself that "The Hustler" routine should be mentioned here...You beat me to it spellers. Ta!
It did go down rather well

Just to endorse Entity's earlier comments:
My friend Mike Massey is a world-class trick-shot artist. A little more than 20 years ago, I met Mike and his wife while he was on tour performing trick-shot exhibitions in pool halls. I taught Mike this effect (and a few others) so he could add a 'bit of magic' to his pool hall exhibitions. I remember telling Mike that Eddie Fields used to do this effect 'back in the day' and Mike lit up--he knew Eddie well and was tickled to learn one of his effects. Mike has used it successfully ever since...to the point of including it in his promotional videos. Hope this helps. Best, Mick

Looch's routine (if it's the same we discussed years ago), is great! If only I was better at the pool table, I would be performing it.

Uww now your testing my memory buddy...I think it was certainly similar but you don't have to be good at pool to pull this off. Its as Simple & Direct as ever

You misunderstand - your effect gives the illusion of being awesome at the pool table - and I'm not. It's a great piece and would make my pool skills appear to be very sound, but they are quite mediocre at best.

Didn't see this in the thread, but I could've missed it. I've seen it done w/ combo UM and Dekram decks. Very strong as you can reveal your prediction before showing the randomly selected card.

While it doesn't use any playing cards, my "Poolside Prediction" is a lot of fun and packs a punch. It can be found in the "Nailwriter Anthology" and in my "The Eureka Moment".
