I am in a magic club at Georgia Tech, and we decided to create a team in order to raise money for Relay for Life this year. I was looking for some general fund raising tips. We have planned on tabling in our student center for a couple days to try and raise some money, but I think there have to be some other ideas out there! We are a pretty inexperienced group though, so we probably couldn't do anything large-scale like a stage show. I've tried going through residence halls to raise some funds, but that turned out empty. Any ideas would help, even if they don't involve magic!
And, if you happen to be motivated to donate to our team, you can PM me if you'd like! I'll give you a link that sends you directly to the donation page of the Relay for Life chapter at Georgia Tech! Thanks! (If this isn't the right spot for this....don't hesitate to move it! I thought it might fit here though...)
Think inside the box while everyone else is busy thinking outside of it.

I wish you well with this. My wife helps to run one of the local relays, and each year she gets me to do some walk around stuff at the event. Haven't thought about using the magic to raise money, but I'll think about it now! Maybe a local pub will let you perform some night and you can do it for donations.

I do free events all the time for the Relay. Sometimes I get mad cause theres very little referrals but than I realize that it helps a worthy cause.
I love magic!

Magic. (big sign at table)
$2.00 per trick. $5.00 for three $200.00 per hour at your bar or restaurant All proceeds go to charity. Alternatively, when I was in highschool, we sold strips of Duct Tape for $1.00 each and had the principal stand on a chair against the wall. Each piece was stuck to him and after a predetermined time period the chair was removed. Echa person buying a strip could also pay $2.00 to enter a pool and put how long in minutes and seconds that he would stick to the wall before falling and as a fail safe how many pieces of tape would have to be removed until he fell. Half of this pool would go to charity the other half to the person who go the time right. If after the longest guessed time nobody won, we would remove one piece of tape at a time until he peeled off the wall.
I am a Sankey addict....please, help me!
