On the Ellusionist's website, it says HOVERCARD by Dan Harlan, produced by Ellusionist.

Hover Card looks cool and I'm sure the gimmick is good quality (was always hard making one on your own). Only thing I don't like about it from Ellusionist is that you have to buy the DVD set in order to buy additional gimmicks. Say I buy the package and an additional gimmick. Down the road, both of those break and I'd have to buy the package again? They're pretty good with technology, hopefully they can keep track on who already owns the package.

Hovercard looks very magical; take its angle sensitivity into consideration and the card can't be examined.

I think I can describe it without tipping too much. Here it is: Gimmick face-down on the bottom. Dupe face-down on top. Force dupe. Ambitious (or whatever) ending with dupe face-up on top. Flip entire deck over as you pretend to square the cards! Sounds crazy, but it's way easy to do! Just flip it over. Since the gimmick matches the dupe, it looks like nothing has changed. You can use misdirection if you want, but it's almost unnecessary. Now, float. Then when the card returns to the deck, flip it over again! That's it! Try it out". --Dan Harlan

Sounds like a great effect, any thoughts? How does this size up in up-close situations? Recommendations?

I am ordering this one tonight! Does anyone know if they will sell the gimmick by itself in the future?

I really like it and have been using them for over a yr. I have broken a few and just reordered. I think it is very strong but is sometimes bothersome because it is so fragile. I guess fragile isn't the word but you must handle it with care and it shouldnt just be stuck in with the deck at the end of the routine or whatever. It should be kept in a empty box or something that wont put any pressure on it. Very good reactions though and angles are much better than I thought they would be.

The E-website says that you can reorder the gimmick only if you have purchased the DVD.

Everyone who says they already have this, where did you get them? Or if you made it, where did you get the instructions?

You are right . . . I do however assume that as a repeat customer you can order it. But - yes - one should never only assume.

Gobrownstd5,
Dan's Hover Card has been on sale for many years now. Its been discontinued by Murphys, so looks like Dan has done an exclusive deal to relaunch it with Ellusionist. Its a great trick
