Chair suspension where the magician sits in the chair and rises while in a seated position. Where can I find one of these for sale?

It's a Yogano illusion to my understanding. He's got a few different versions, Diabolo, Sit Down, Bar stool, Lots of great inovations.

Are there any ways to build your own bar stool/chair levitation?
Can anyone PM me with help on how to build my own?

I have been interested in the 21 century chair suspension listed at Tilfords and shown in Magic magazine. My concern is that I want to be able to use a women from the audience, not a child (as demo on their video) even though they say it holds ups to 140 lbs I have concerns about an adult (who is not an assistant-who would have practiced on this) since the piece holding them up after removing the board is 36" long and 10" wide. Its the 10" wide part that concerns me. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

The actual weight that a chair suspension will holds varies from manufacture to manufacturer. If it is made by MAK Magic forget it unless you want to only use kids. I see a lot of dealers advertising MAKs chair as holding a 120 pounds or more. The instructions advise otherwise.

Generally speaking, the longer the board the more weight it will hold. I saw one that even had a pull out tray to support the head. It cost about $2000. Hocus Pocus once had a steel import chair suspension for $600 that did hold an adult, but it is no longer available.

Call Tilford and speak with Doug. Let him know what you expect. He will tell you the manufacturer and if the illusion will fit your needs. He has always been upfront with me. He may even refer you to a previous purchaser so you can get another opinion.

Also e-mail a couple of dealers. They may be able to direct you to a source of a heavy weight chair suspension.

Make sure that if you are buying illusions through a web sight that the dealer has some type of return policy.

Let us all know how you make out in your search. Good luck.

Thanks I understand from e-mailing with Doug that the model he sells is not the MAK and that the demo video on the site is incorrect becausze it is using the MAK he said he will remove it.
